So who's picking it up?
Every version of the film released plus the new "final cut" edit!
I've had the suitcase version preordered(HD DVD) for about 2 months now. I know there are some pretty big BR fans here, so is anybody else hyped?

It must be the version that's been playing in theaters (in Minneapolis anyway) for the past few weeks. It's supposed to be quite good.
I'm getting the 4-disc version. I don't need the workprint. I don't need a Spinner toy. And I fucking HATE oddball dvd packaging. Where the fuck do I put a briefcase-shaped thing? Never mind the fact that it's double the price for that one extra version of the movie.
I have the HD briefcase version on preorder at amazon. The fuckers estimate it won't be delivered till the 26th. I don't really mind waiting though. Looks like it will be just what the BR die hards have been wanting for years.
Been waiting most of my natural born life for this release. 'Bout time really. Though I'm with STK on this one, as I see no point in buying some brief case version for a work print. I'd rather get a voucher to fuck the shit out of Sean Young though. I'd make her get Rachel-ed out and give her a Replicant Night.
MERCENARY X99
Me too, i bought it the moment it came out on pre-order, i ordered the normal version too just in case .... :pQuote:

It's releasing on Bluray too, right? This may be the first Bluray disc I've purchased in months.
awesome movie, i recommend every fan of blade Runner to check out Terry Gilliam's "Brazil" another wicked sweet movie.
Yup.Quote:

I hear you guys about the breifcase being an eyesore and storage problem but goddamnit I just couldn't help myself.
@lonesage: for fucks sake man:oh_no:
terry geez the reason I've been waiting my whole life to see this movie is to see the true, final, ultradone unrated cut that will be released in two weeks.
i didn't want to be spoiled by the fake final director's cut
now i can truly experience blade runner in its purest form
the waiting game has finally paid off
I don't think the briefcase is going to be THAT big........but if it is I guess I can make some more closet space. I am pretty sure they are just throwing in the 4-5 disc release box into the case. So I can just throw that on the shelf and put the other stuff away.
I'm sooooo ready for this. Probably going to get the four disc collector's set. This edition of the film has been in limbo for over a decade thanks to two different groups claiming rights to the film . I'm glad they finally got it worked out. Best noir film ever. :D
I have the Blu-ray Ultimate Edition (suitcase) on pre-order from the Warner online store.
However given the amount of problems with their service, I'm not expecting this any time soon.
Cornhole the bitch until her android rectum is flipped inside out PROPER STYLE! :multi_co:Quote:

Can't wait. Getting the HD DVD version this Tuesday. I've been waiting for them to rerelease it on DVD, nevermind HD DVD!
I'm excited as hell. I'm off Tuesday, too. It will be a very good day!
Caught the Final Cut this last Sunday. Movie is still fantastic.
On the 20th, the Ulitmate Blu-ray set will be in my hands. ^_^
Shit, It's about time.
I have the old director's cut release and it fucking sucks. Give me the theatrical version or give me death!
I'm definitely getting this.
Original theatrical release is an empty shell of a movie. Except for the visuals, you almost might as well watch something else at that point.
Your street cred plummets to zippo with this dude.Quote:

You know why Harrison sounds extra bored with these voiceovers?
Even he knew they were retarded.
The 5 disc set is #1 on my Christmas list. Cant wait to check out all of the cool extras!

Hey, the first couple of times I saw this movie it was the theatrical version. That's the way I saw it first, so when I saw the other versions I hated them. They chopped the fucking ending off in the directors cut. Not cool.Quote:

Hmm... I didn't know that. Ok, that does fucking suck. Guess I'll be happy with my old director's cut then.Quote:

No, that's nerd exasperation. I didn't bold anything.Quote:

I've already seen the opened set in person, 3 highdef discs have all the cuts on them, the other 2 discs in either set are normal DVDs and have the extras + workprint cut in 480p.
Don't you mean HD DVD FTL?Quote:

That ending was literally table scraps from The Shining, only put there because the dipshits at the studio demanded it. Had nothing to do with Ridley Scott's vision for the movie. As such, it was cast into the garbage, where it belongs. The ending in the Director's Cut IS the ending. No happy bullshit, no immortal Rachel. Just the elevator closing on two people in love running for their lives.Quote:

I hope they fixed the audio on this new one as the old one is just way too soft. I hope the non-fancy version is standalone with just the movie and no special features.
My USA copy arrived 2 days ago in Scotland - i thought it was released early
still havent had a chance to look at it though :(
True, but most "director's cuts" have about 20 minutes of footage that doesn't even need to be in there and just slows the pace of the film. I guess this one is different. I guess I'll have to dust off the old dvd and give it another chance.Quote:

all versions have the same 5 discs, no matter what you buy.Quote:
