Pictures from your hometown. (56k suicide)
Finally got a camera worth it's salt.
Here are some mediocre pictures from around my hometown.
Well, two pictures at least.
Here's a dark picture from the K-Mart Parking lot:

Here's a picture from this morning heading into town:

And here's an interesting picture from the Secretary's office at my Dad's work:

I'll post more (of what I think are) interesting pictures of my home town as I take 'em.
What about you guy's hometowns?

Milling About Winter Town With My Camera
Promised kernow some pictures after he showed me his Plymouth, so I got off my arse, dusted off my lens, and went shooting.

It snowed last night sometime after midnight, and by this morning there was a little less than 1 inch of accumulation. This bend in the road is right in front of the Westminster Choir College here in Princeton, which makes it quite easy to take a picture of the road without standing in traffic.

This is the local 'arthouse' cinema or whatever one calls it. It used to be such a rundown dump.... I still remember the time when I was in Garden Theater watching Schindler's List, the screen projector was horrible, the sound system was horrible, and halfway through the movie, the muthafooking projector melted the 35mm film strip, which audience members witnessed with a mixture of amusement and horror. Luckily it's quite nice now, they renovated the whole joint about 7, 8 years ago, stadium seating (as much as one can manage in such a narrow joint, new screens, projectors, speakers --- the works.

This is the famous breakfast establishment P.J.'s Pancake House. It's been here as long as I can remember since moving to Princeton. IMO the pancakes are nothing to write home about, but if you ever pass by P.J.'s on a Saturday or Sunday morning, the line snakes out the front door and pass the adjoining shoe store. Boggles the mind.

Now this is one bizarre scene that I didn't expect to capture when I was taking a picture of the pancake house.

This is The Little Chef Pastry Shop on Tulane. Story goes that the chef/owner is an African from a former French colonial nation trained in France on the craft of French pastries, then came to open his pastry shop in Princeton. I have never asked the chef in person, so I can neither confirm nor refute the story, but I must say, the pastries in this shop is fantastic. If you're not here early, there will be next to nothing left by noon.

Princeton's Record Exchange is the only record store left in town, but it's a fantastic one and deservedly so. Owner of the store used to be out on Long Island, came to Princeton to fill the appetite of music afficionados for vintage and eclectic music, and since then record collectors from far and near come to the Princeton Record Exchange for the thrill of the hunt. Used CDs, LPs, DVDs arguably makeup the bulk of its revenues, but the store doesn't sacrifice floor space at the expense of new CDs, LPs, and DVDs inventory either.
