Notice the $10 clock on top of the probably $1500 of equipment.:lolz:
that's disgusting.

I'm waiting for Thirdkind to come in and tell me how Blu-Ray is still better and this is normal.
I use normal DVDs why piss my money on minimal performance enhancement?
Looks like me and Ed are the only sane people here.Quote:

You could form an equally endless montage of 360's sporting the red ring of doom, PS2's tuned to the sounds of the D-R-Es (XBoxes too), etc etc. Dreamcasts too.
Fact is, given how important firmware updates are with modern electronics, you're kind of retarded if you spend that much on home theater and don't have an internet connection in the same place.
There isnt any excuse for it taking 20 minutes to get to the actual movie after sticking the disk in.Quote:

OH YEAH Sony.
This only ends up hurting Sony showing that they rushed out Blu-Ray to compete with Toshiba on the Next-Gen DVD level and the gaming side with Nintendo & Microsoft.
Believe it or not, but I really wish Sony was doing better then they are. I have been a proud owner of a PS2 for almost 4 years and have had a ton of good gaming experiences. But with the high price of the PS3 added with the problems with Blu-Ray, it can't be good for them.
But according to Third-Kind, Blu-Ray isn't Sony, but yet whenever anything is written positive or negative about Blu-Ray, Sony is always bundled in with it.
What are you talking about? Sony gave Disney permission to what? When?Quote:

It's funny because the $40 Blu-Ray is encrypted, scratchable, and full of ads... while the $0 PirateBay download is in an open format, copyable to wherever you want, and contains no extra trash.
Maybe this is why they "can't compete with free".
Does that change the fact that this is one instance of a shit BD player?Quote:

Not finalizing the BD-J spec before pushing the format at the door is just plain retarded though. They deserve all the bashing they can get for that.
Also, anyone who actually plays these interactive games needs to get out more often. Buy a DS or something, shit.
Because the media share your peanut brain, which has all the smarts of the Office paperclip helper guy.Quote:

Does it provide proof of any of that? Again man, in this kind of retarded fanboy-based tech debate, most shit like this spewed over the web is just that, crap to prove a point hardly anyone gives a shit about. Who the hell is seriously bored enough that they set up a fucking clock and a camera to prove how much their BD unit blows?Quote:

If you are willing to draw conclusions based off of looking at a display in a store that is horribly calibrated, by all means go for it.
It seems to be the rage to hate on newer technologies that ARE better.
You do know everything eventually will be HD right?
You still gonna hate then? You might become popular among a group of narrowminded idiots who get left behind due to their wanting to be extremely cool.
@Eddie
Minimal performance enhancement?
You obviously haven't seen BD or HD DVD movies that are done properly.
Don't start spouting mindless bullshit so you can fit in with the circle jerk of tech haters.

In any case, I don't really care. Both Blu-ray and HDDVD are nice formats, I like the new gloss shine and color brilliance that they bring to my movie experience. Even the HDDVD version of my favorite flick, Dune, has revealed things I never noticed before in the video and audio. I just hate how the studios are seperated by formats.
HDDVD: Universal, New Line, Warner Bros, Paramount
Blu-ray: Disney, MGM, Sony, Fox
Either I'll have to buy a stand alone Blu-ray player (fuck PS3) or I'll have to buy a hybrid dual player (which costs no less than $1100 as of this post).
Facts are facts, neither format is losing this war.
As the consumer, we are (unless you hate all studios of one side) forced to support both formats.
Bull...shit...lie; format war my ass!

No-one is 'forcing' you to support both formats.Quote:

Everytime I see someone buying a blu-ray or hd-dvd movie or player I think "sucker".
I'm not computer savvy like that (though, it probably wouldn't take much).Quote:

From there I watched the documentary about becoming Bond. Most enjoyable it was too.

Also, Casino Royale is dogshit. I can only imagine how awful the "features" are.
I don't give a fuck about HD coz my current TV works fine.
When it breaks i'll give a shit about HD.
