Everybody still playing it regularly?
I can't say that I play it nearly as much as I did when I first got it. There seems to be a drought in games im interested in at the moment. Maybe Super Mario Galaxy will revive my interest.
P.S.: i've still yet to find one on the shelves (my parents are looking for one...odd :p)
Not counting using the browser, news and other non-game channels, I have probably used mine less than 15 hours since the new year. I want to sell it, but I know the moment I do I will regret it. I think I will mod it soon and then I will be able to try these games first.
I use mine for VC and cooking mama , cooking mama is great in 2 player

I use the VC instead of buying a NES or PCE, too much clutter.
I have an NES, SNES, TG16, etc etc... so I haven't bought any VC titles.
I've been curious about Cooking Mamma, I may have to check that out.
got one at launch and i highly doubt i've put more than 10 hours into since i've had it.
horrible system, with even more horrible games.

Wii Sports
Twilight Princess
Excite Truck
Elebits
Kororinpa
Sonic (I found it more enjoyable than most for some reason)
Super Paper Mario
Wario Ware
Eights games not counting VC downloads more than justifies my purchase.
Bunch of stuff I'm looking forward to as well.
At the moment, I think the Wii is at the same of level of enjoyment that I've been pulling from my 360; so this current-gen lineup is quite even to me at the moment.
In interesting news, on the store rounds yesterday I saw 1 single Wii sitting on the shelf at a Wal-Mart. I'm sure its gone by now.
Anyway, I only got mine in January, so I can't say I've had 6 months of play out of mine yet, but I have been playing it still.
I put a ton of time into Super Paper Mario but that's done, with only a little replay in the game, I probably won't put it back in for a long time. Wario Ware was a huge let down. Played it for about a week and find no reason to go back to it. How does a game full of random microgames completely lack replay value? I still play Tanks! in Wii Play every so often. Great simple games there. I've also started playing some Metal Slug Anthology. It isn't fantastic, but I'm getting used to the control scheme and I don't mind it too much. Lately though, I've gone back to Wii Sports. I'm also looking to pick up something new soon, maybe Zelda.
why does the wii, despite it's very limited library get so much leeway?

Wario Ware and Wii Play are two games that I rarely play, that I thought would last longer than they did.

The wii is garbage imo. The grafix are embarrasing even by last gen standards and the controls always leave you feeling less than satisfied. I tried metal slug anthology just so i could play ms6, but i can't stand the controls. Shaking a controller to throw bombs is just ridicoulus. I would like the console alot more if it had a decent controller but even then its not worth $50 less than an xbox360.
I used to call it(wii) the gamecube v1.5 but that was before playing and owning one. At best its a gamecube v1.25. Way to rape the gaming community again nintendo.
The sad part is nintendo still can't get online/multiplayer down right. And whats with the wii friend codes? You have to remember or write down a 16 digit number? I like numbers as much as the next guy but holy shit, why can't you just remember nicks like XBL or ps3? On top of that you have to buy an accessory to get it to work online, they could have put an ethernet port on the back.
As much as i like to play with myself theres one thing thats for certain, i won't be playing with my wii for quite some time :/
It's th gamecube redux, but worse. At least the gamecube had a superior hardware than the PS2.
It will have great games, no doubt about that. May get one waaay later, if games that really interest me does come out (Not a new iteration of Mario, Re4, Mario Kart, mario Party, Zelda...)
Well, Mario Strikers is suppose to be out (or almost) in the UK and it has received very good review scores. I would be curious to know if the on line is any good or not, since this game is a perfect fit for on line play.

I know its IGN but they have a short video that describes the online process, and it sounds pretty solid. I'm definately interested in this game.
I honestly haven't touched the Wii in probably 3 months. That will all change once Mario Strikers Charged comes out.
IGN also did a little preview of Big Brain Academy for the Wii as well. It sounds like there are some really good mutli-player modes where you form two teams. This could end up being a really good game, as I thought the DS version was really good. Of course $50 seems a little high for this type of game.
And yes, Mario Strikers sounds like it is going to be very good.

The Wii is anomaly in my opinion. I see where the fun is (Wii Sports is well done), but man there are just no good games out there beside the ones Nintendo develops.

Bought mine at launch, played it regularly for about a month, started renting games infrequently, then stopped using it completely. Sold it two weeks ago and don't miss it.
I'll never understand the mentality of selling off current-gen systems so shortly after they've been out.
There's bound to be something coming out along the way that you'll want to play (or maybe even something you didn't even know you wanted to play), so why not just hang onto it until it starts to depreciate in value?
I didn't buy a 360 until Dead Rising came out, but if I had bought it at launch I'd have just hung onto it until that time (even now I haven't bought much 360 software but I'm still going to keep it for the stuff that's on the way.)
Same with the PS3.
I never wanted one, but if I did pick one up in the beginning I'd have still kept it for those few great games that will be popping up soon.

I think Nintendo finally got it right with a Zelda at launch and a first year that is going to include, Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers ect. I usually latch onto a single system as my favorite, but those people that say they can't find a single thing to play on system X are just stupid.
When my brothers and I got a PSX for Christmas (I wanted an N64) I was a bit mad, but 5 years later we had 30 odd games, and that was more than I needed by far to occupy my time.
I wonder if the Wii hate has become a sort of anti-mainstream thing...
Wow, i'm surprised by some of the reactions in this thread. There's no way i'll be selling my Wii anytime soon, it just seems like the drought is apon us (which was correctly noted that it happens with every new system).
I'm excited to see what games will transpire in the future as a result of the Wii's unique controls.

It's funny how people are like, "Man, there ain't shit to play on Wii except Zelda, Super Paper Mario, Excite Truck, Cooking Mama...etc." But when 360 and PS3 came out it was like, "There ain't shit to play on 360 or PS3. Period." I know, a bit fan boyish, but that's the truth. We all saw it. That's how it was. For one of them, that's how it still is. :lolz: But, with time, this will be a very exciting console generation. Wii is great, 360 owns a considerable amount of face (and I hated 360 at first... Shows you how far it has come), and with time, PS3 will hopefully shape up as well.
Not to mention games are fewer and further between during this time of year no matter what system.
Anyone who can honestly look at the Wii's upcoming release list and say, "That sucks none of those games will be good" is a complete moron.

Still don't have one, and despite a couple of other titles of interest to me, not buying one until No More Heroes anyway.
Either way (as already said), the 6-month mark hasn't been a good point to bother gauging any of the three consoles.
My use has slowed down for actual Wii games, mostly been playing the hell out of Resident Evil 4 since I never had a Gamecube. I was amped to get Super Paper Mario, but quickly got annoyed as hell with it. Still like the Wii though and I'm sure more games are around the corner.
I will buy another Wii, as soon as I can find one in the stores.
Reason I sold was complicated, but I'm not getting into it on here.

I just think the third party leaves A LOT to be desired right now.
Why on earth would you hang onto it until it starts to *depreciate* in value? I sold my used Wii for more than a new Wii sells for because they're still lingering in that supply-less-than-demand phase - which won't last for much longer. If I ever miss the thing, I can buy a new one later and have made a profit. Financially speaking, given the lack of use the system had in my house, I couldn't have made a better decision.Quote:
