Surprised no one started up a thread earlier. Just got back from the movie and I have to say it's much better then I expected. The voice acting was well done (although no one can beat Cam Clarke). There was also some pretty good action scenes. Just an overall good action movice that reminds you why you liked the Turtles. Everything just worked. Add to that the end of the movie basically setup for a sequel. Granted, it's not going to win an Qscar, but it was just plain good fun.
Was planning to watch this tonight but decided tomorrow instead. Nice to hear your impressions were positive for the most part. I heard the Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady or anyone else from the cartoon isn't in it. Which i really don't mind. It's nice to switch things up this time around. After the second and third movie, i just wanted another decent TMNT movie. This might be it. Can't wait until tomorrow.

Just go and see it. You can't believe anybody these days. See it and make your own opinions. It's not like you've got an option of 8 TMNT movies to see. This one has been a long time coming so just check it out.

I really wanted to see some old villain cartoon characters, and there is absolutely zero. Bebop, Krang, Dr. Baxter Stockman, The Rat King, Leatherhead, Slash, General Traag, Metalhead, The Foot....etc
The movie takes place after the 3rd movie, so shredder is still dead and it seems unlikely that he would be back in a sequel.
At the end of the movie they basically say Shredder is still around. The foot clan are in this movie. Yea, it's not the whole cast of the original series, but I'll take it. Add to that there's a setup for a sequel with Shredder. Not perfect but much better then it could have been.Quote:

How could this movie be good at all? I've seen all of the various TMNT revivals since the original show went off the air, and every one has been disappointing. I'll stick with the first live action movie.

You know, I went in thinking it would be terrible, but must admit I was pleasantly surprised. It's actually not bad at all.
I thought it had a good balance of action, story, and silliness.

Just came back from watching TMNT. I have to say, it was worth the price of admission. The thing that stood out the most from the get-go were the visuals. The CG in the movie was very good. I had my doubts from the trailers and the still shots of the turtles but, the new look works very well. Almost life like in some cases.
The voice acting was actually pretty good. It really didn't have too many corny moments or really hammy lines(Mikey has plenty of great moments). The sound effects and music fit perfectly with the visuals. Was quite impressed.
This is probably my second favorite turtle movie after the original. Jedah Doma wasn't lying when he said this movie is not just some kiddy movie. It's faithful and entertaining to past turtle fans. It's definitely worth a look.

I couldn't watch more than 10 minutes of it. I think some English guy was the villain.
I went into this film expecting my childhood memories to be crushed, surprisingly they were not. Everyone at my theater seemed to be a mixture of ages, with a small majority in favor of the 20+ crowd.
The voice acting was surprisingly dead on (guest voice from Kevin Smith and the guy who did Tidus' voice in FFX did one of the Turtles, I forget whom). The film was well paced, solid fight scenes and the story was what I expected it to be (not exactly mind blowing, but not bad either). If you don't see this film but enjoyed the previous movies/cartoon, your loss.
I saw it on Friday and I loved it. I had a problem with Maco's voice when I first heard him. He was REALLY raspy and didn't sound well, but he got better along in the film.
I like a lot of ribs to the cartoon and jokes that went more with the old comic. It was a good balance between the two. The fight scenes, while few, were very good. I'd recommend the movie to anybody that was a Turtles fan, it was well worth the money and I'd like to see it again.

Indeed, the story is nothing to write home about, but the animation, voice acting (for the most part), and action was well done. If you just look at the story, then yea, it's a by the books kinda thing, but it's the movie as a whole that fleshes things out more. Just glad to see it was at least enjoyable.Quote:

I loved the old turtles 1 and 2. Shredder getting his shit pushed pushed in with a trash compactor at the end? After falling off a building?? Then surviving?! Thats some Geese Howard shit right there....
I even liked the cartoon remake on fox kids. Bishop was a good villian, Leatherhead was a good character, and the Elite Foot ninja had a wicked design.
But for one reason or another, these fags thought it would be super cool to put this shit in the futute with faggot costumes and generic villians.
As for this film?
Maybe this film is for kids, but hell....I was a kid at one point and I can tell you now that a 12 year old version of myself would NOT give a fuck about this movie.
Oh, and I don't care how good CG gets....it can never replicate the supple bounce of April O'Neils ass in the first turtles movie.
