its supposed to be shipping on the 30th but sadly it seems almost all the major online stores will only be carrying the "import friendly" oranged tipped version.

Not too impressed with MP Megs. Compared to MP Prime and MP Starscream he's lacking detail and the US Orange cap puts me off it altogether.
I never had the original, and having this one would be nothing short of great. But, this is dependant on having a lapse of budgetary judgement.
Tao Toys was offering a pre-order for a non tipped version but they've sold out.

I have MP Prime. All of the US Alternators and the entire line of classics. I love good Transformers.
I like this Megs alot but the price is kinda steep. ALSO FYI folks the orange tip is just a peice of plastic that you can remove. At least that is what hlj.com is selling.
I might wait for the initial madness to end with Megatron and pick one up later.
I really didnt care for Starscream. I wanted cartoon screamer and not the insisted by Kawamori actual military colored Screamer.
I'm not quite sure what people are getting at by this new Megatron not looking so good...do you guys remember what the original looked like? Total ass.
This one is a huge improvement, and if I had the dough I'd get it.

edit....after reading voodoodoctorX's post, I think he's on to what I'm thinkin.
The only thing I dont like about it is his legs are really shoddy and thin looking.

from what ive heard that tip will be glued in to comply with US laws so you risk breaking a 100 dollar toy by removing it.

Thats all well and good but he still lacks the detail of MP Prime and Starscream. He's just so flat and bland. Prime and Starscream were both well worth the $100 price tag, but I wouldn't be willing to go more than $60 for Megs. There's just not enough of him to warrant $100.
Seeing as how we already had a repaint of the MP Prime mold I'm hoping that we'll see a show correct MP Starscream repaint as well as the prerequisite Skywarp and Thundercracker repaints.

it probably will be packaged in robot mode, and to be honest i dont get why all of a sudden there is this big customs scare. recently the reissue of the origional toy was packaged in gun mode and it made it through customs just fine.

Just got mine today. It was from HLJ via a friend who ordered a case in California. Comes in Bot mode in a plastic tray.
Not much Diecast. Lots of parts! I looked at the manual to transform him and for now I think I will pass. I never really cared for his alt mode.
Bot mode is awesome. Great match-up for your MP Optimus Prime.

The Prime is the US 20th Anniversary one. Got it on clearance at a Walmart like 4 years ago for 25 bucks or so!
