Lol, no thanks, I'm not interested in the PS3 for Betamax 2.0 and Metal Gear 1000.Quote:

Guess I'm going to be saving a lot of money not buying a PS3.

sucks big time for Sony.
But to be honest, 4 looks unimpressive.
If I had a PS3 I'd still buy it tho.
Last I heard, MGS4 was almost definitely going to be ported to 360... Kojima doesn't want to have anything to do with it because he's a Sony fanboy, but Konami basically said "fine, we'll do it ourselves then".Quote:

If the Sony doesn't start selling more PS3's (which it won't because it's overpriced), MGS4 will be ported to the 360 - that's all there is to it.
Konami execs aren't going to care about something as silly as Sony loyalty when it's putting their bottom line at risk.
And why should they?
The only game that I was to buy a PS3 for was Mercenaries 2, but I hear that it is being ported to 360 as well.
MGS4 is going to be a time exclusive game
doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out
it's going to be like the whole RE4 on the PS2 fiasco
Konami has no reason to deprive themselves of potential sales by not releasing the game on another system
this is like...totally the end of Sony.
I'll reserve that for the moment MGS4 make its way to the 360.Quote:

And if MGS4 were to be ported to 360, it can take the time it needs and come on as many discs at it needs. Considering my current opinion on the PS3 is really low, being able to get it on another system at all will be good for myself. Besides, they ported at least one MG game in the past on an Xbox console, so it's not too far-fetched.
Great :)
Katamari, Ace combat 6 and now DMC4, nice to see multiplatform games from japanese publishers get more common.
People actually play this series?
jesus
Good, so the devs finally got smart. I don't see why any third party dev would want to only release their game for one system. You can't tell me they're getting paid so much for being an exclusive that it makes up for sales on 1 or more other consoles.
You're going to ridicule a MGS sequel...but you were looking forward to another Devil May Cry...? That's like saying fuck Zelda, you are waiting for the next Goemon game. It's fucking ridiculous, is what it is.Quote:

LOL sounds like typical sony spin, you been reading PSM i see. Anyhow there are no games at all on HD-DVD, but most of whats on bluray is games. There are more gamers willing to buy new technology than movie buffs, so don't go comparing apples to oranges. Compare bluray game sales to the 360's game sales, or compare the bluray movie sales to the hd-dvd, but don't go comparing movies + games(ps3) to games(360).Quote:

I heard Sony is resorting to stabbing needles in little Bill Gates voodoo dolls.

Keep pushing Sony...with this, that's only two exclusives the system has that interest me now (MGS4 and FFXIII, don't care about anything else announced). Buying a Wii just for No More Heroes is starting to look more practical by the minute.
ZOMG bluray...
now I can see each hair follicle on Brad Pitt's head.
Who cares?
Not I.
The only reason most of you care is because the entertainment companies have spend millions upon millions of dollars on public relations and direct advertising to tell you that you care. LOL.
Stop listening to Bright Eyes and other indie music and just conform already! :lolz:Quote:

Advertising in effect pits itself against the competition to sell the product. If there was only one player with a great product that everybody wanted to back there would be next to no advertising at all.
what's different about owning the same media players as 99% of the civilized world...Quote:

Actually one of the great things about high definition movies, is when done properly it can clear up a lot of the crap that shows up on regular DVD's.Quote:

The high definition films get closer to the director's original intent than any SD DVD can possibly do.
As for Blu-Ray selling 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 is a bit of a scam considering that when they are taking these figures into account, they are counting the free Blu-Ray movies that Sony is giving away as part of Blu-Ray Player purchases. So considering the numbers, I have a feeling the figures are about equal.
Honestly, I think DVD-quality is perfectly fine for a 27" screen. But when you get up to 50" or so, regular DVD's and normal cable looks like shit. The bigger screens that have become more commonplace give you more visual real estate, but they also magnify all the imperfections that aren't apparent on smaller screens.Quote:

Looks rather nice.
Well, it's all subjective, but to me watching an SD signal on a 50" TV looks rather poor.Quote:

You know, I would say the same thing about all the examples you mentioned.Quote:

Question is, are others like Sega, Konami, Square, and Bandai/Namco gonna follow the suit?
Sega is doing so with VF5.
There's a Rumor on MGS4 from Konami.
And I don't know if the sales went well for Square for it's MMORPG FFXI for them to consider a release on the 360.
Which leaves us with Bandai/Namco. They've left multi platforms to go exclusive (SC 2 to SC3). And are pretty much by the balls with Sony (Tekken Dark no PS2 release). I guess only time will tell whether we'll see their 3d Fighters on MS's console. But then again, Katamari is being worked on Live Arcade so who knows what other projects they have for the 360....
