Hooray! Seems like the Wii is getting all the good titles. Yeah, the Saturn on the VC would be very very difficult for Nintendo/Sega to do. It'd be a miracle if they could.

Quite nice.

The Wii is the perfect system for this.

Whether or not Sega is up to the task of making it a worthy sequel to the original is the real big question.

At the very least though, it's something to get excited about.

Oh and did you hear that starting next month, we'll be seeing FM Towns Marty games on the VC?

Ok yeah, seriously, I'm going to have to go to work later on to check NP for that image. If it's there, I'll believe it... Or at least believe that it was just used for quick clip-art.

I don't know if anyone has seen it yet, but on the official SEGA website they were having a poll, "what SEGA game/Character would you like to see return?" ...turns out the poll isn't up anymore, but it was a few days ago.

The poll was lead by NiGHTs with Streets Of Rage coming in close second. Flicky was on the list too, I wonder why? Flicky hasn't been around for 2 decades now.

As it is, I would be surprised if they don't make a new NiGHTs game.

And before people leap out of the fucking woodwork about it, telling me or others that we "Don't get it", I've had to make many argument about "getting" Rez.

Maybe its one of those type of deals, but I found NiGHTS to be insanely boring.

Graphically I was taken with the game, but as far as playing it, I could never quite get into it.

i wonder how long its going to take for devs to realize that tilting controls are total shit. (ie. all wii racing games, sonic, etc.)

I went out of my way to get my first Saturn mostly over all the insane hype for it. It was great for about 10 minutes, then I just found it boring as hell.

This whole phenomenon arrived during that 4-year window where I pretty much dropped games because I started dating in HS. I got back into games in college, but then I was busy being shocked at how many Neo Geo games were available on eBay (1999ish).

So I have yet to understand what makes these games so neat. I sampled one (I think the very first one) at the Toys R Us when I was checking out an N64 kiosk with a friend, it just came off as a way for Sega to not get embarrassed by the Mario 64 game. I think that was the first impression of many casual gamers at the time.

I agree, plus, the way Sega shits on their own franchise lately (Sonic, Sega Rally 2006, etc), I am not excited until it is done and reviewed favorably.

Of course, they'd have to figure out a way to connect more than five controllers...

I totally agree, since I have Sonic also and it pisses me off that you can't go backwards and how times a slight movement can slow Sonic down.

I hope you use the nunchuk to control Nights movement instead, but I have a feeling that it will be a tilt forward-like control for Nights.

I was never a huge fan of NiGHTS either, but I do realize it was hugely popluar and would be a good addition to the console.

I want to know when Nintendo is going let us run downloaded VC games from SD cards? Not just store them, but actually execute them?

From my understanding, there is only about 280 megabytes of usable flash memory in the system for save games and downloaded VC games and such. The rest is system reserved.

I don't know how much space save games occupy, but I do know that unless they are using some crazy compression on teh romZ, then thats gonna become a real big issue soon.

Couple N64 games and maybe some Neo ones and you are done.

2 gig SD for like $20 sounds like a great alternative.

They could encrypt the rom when its downloaded that way it only playable on that machine. Maybe tie it to the Wii number or something.

I kinda hope they allow game rom launches from the SD card slot. As for Saturn Games, it really wouldn't be hard to do. Take in account, except for a select few, most saturn games were less then 200 megs. Plus added with a decent compression, it can be easily done. I would love to play guardian Warriors

Holy shit. This is literally a dream come true for me... assuming it's actually real. I was going to say that if it is indeed in Nintendo Power, they are definitely right, but I really hope this isn't just an April Fool's joke.

By the way, how would having Saturn games on VC work, exactly? If I recall correctly, you can't store VC games on SD cards, so the Wii's 512 MB of flash memory isn't exactly going to cut it.

There were some extra mini games and galleries and stuff that you could earn by collecting presents, but that was all.

It was just a promotion to make people buy the game, like any other demo disc... It is however, probably the only demo disc worth paying $20 for...
