I might go see them at 5 days off in Holland if I can convince some friends to join me.
Saw them last year and they blew my mind. Seriously best show ever.
my girlfriend wants to see them (i am more interested in the opening band honestly:make_fac: )
however the nearest to me would be NY and a 9 hour drive doesnt sound too fun to me especially considering ill be driving 2.5+ hours one-way for three different shows in the upcoming month. gas prices are a killer.....i actually had a dream last night that gas prices were like 1.50 or something and everyone was freaking out (no joke) how pathetic is that??:spock:

I still can't believe they didn't pass out from how hot that venue was... especially with the suits all wired with electronics and what not to go all glowy.
Seriously, interesting show, they put on an amazing light spectacle, but it was still just two guys in suits shooting lights from a pyramid. You didn't even see the boards/electronics they were working on. As a live show it was a complete failure for me just because of that... not to mention I find their music horribly repetitive and dull. The light show, however, was awe-inspiring. There were quite a few moments when I just was completely blown away. I actually said "wow" outloud. I'm glad I experienced it, as it was like nothing I'd seen before, but... at the same time I wonder just how amazing a show like that could have been with a real band playing real instruments or etc along with it... As is, it didn't change my mind about Daft Punk at all, but... as Lithy said... completely unique show, like nothing I'd ever seen before.
I hate how this always happens...a band I finaly want to see, and am willing to spend the arm and a leg that tickets cost these days, comes to my area and I have to be out of town that day! :very_ang: Oh well so be it...
From what I've heard it's just a couple of laptops running Ableton Live hooked up to a bunch of midicontrollers. It's just a really fancy dj set, they haven't got much room for improvisation due to the lightshow.Quote:

ps.. not even Together (the.. 2nd track of the encore, the first thing that plays when their suits light up) wowed you? i dunno, i like that one.

when they dropped 'together' and 'msbwy' in the encore my mind exploded to millions of tiny euphoric pieces.
the whole gig was fuckin insane,
but that encore. was. the. pinnacle.
Igniz has the best opening to a DP show, SebastiAn, Kavinksy and the fucking Rapture.

the show went.. doors around 7ish, everyone buying t-shirts and posters and stuff, then around into the main concert hall where they had a kind of cool general admission setup, you could choose to sit or stand.. dunno why anyone would want to sit, especially since it's far back from their small stage.

thought it was sort of funny that the people in the front couldn't even see back where the DJ table was, so they're cheering towards the front of the stage because they were using the big speakers, in the totally wrong direction.
once they finished, the rapture came on around.. 8 something and played some pretty lively tunes, which was nice, then they got off about an hour later and the lights came back on for another half hour of tunes from the dj's.
after that, lights went out, close encounters of the 3rd kind melody plays, and, well, you know the rest.
that's robot rock, haha.. and, once again.. any bigger?
