He was found dead in his home in Florida on Friday, his brother, Todd Bigelow, said yesterday.
Preliminary autopsy results did not show signs of foul play, but a cause of death will not be known until toxicology tests are completed in a few weeks, said Pasco County sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin

It's sad, I remember playing as Bam-Bam in Wrestlemania for the NES and seeing him on TV back when I was really into wrestling, although I felt more sad for John "Earthquake" Tenta because he died of cancer, not messing his own body.

dude the only thing that's staged is the winners of matches. the punches are pulled and done at 3/4th or half speed. but getting thrown around like a ragdoll you can't soften that blow, getting elbow dropped from the top ropes, that blow can't be stopped. piledrivers are illegal in the WWE because of the high risk of breaking the person's neck in the move. moves like the stunner and RKO hurt like a bitch. and the chair hits are as real as it gets. to say that it's fake and not real is bullshit. you get hit with a gorilla press and tell me that shit doesn't hurt. you can say the ring is just a trampoline which a lot of people say or that it's padded but im sorry that's bullshit too. only thing that's staged is the winner, everything else is pretty damn real, and hurts. why do you think hogan's knees went to shit? lifting heavy men up all the time does it's damage. why do you think joey mercury wears a protective mask for the next few months? getting hit in the face with a ladder will do that. you go get piledriven, suplexed, or speared by a 300 pound man and tell me it's not painful. cause that's just bullshit.Quote:

Those chairs are hit flat on the back to maximize the surface area and lessen the blow. The ring/mat is on springs to soften the blows. Most of the elbows and other hits when someone flops on the ground is for show. They hit the mat first before the elbow hits the person...
The list goes on & on.
It's all choreographed. The blood is real but hey, like I said, they only get hurt when the stunt goes wrong.

One of the greatest stars of the 1980s, the Dynamite Kid is in a wheelchair from working that style and his use of steroids helped accelerate the damage on his body. If there was ever one athlete I would point to for being a reason not to take steroids, it would be Tommy Billington. All it did in the end was help to put him in a wheelchair.

As far as whether the moves are real, yes it's all planned out and in almost every case, wrestlers aren't getting hit full force but keep in mind, many of these wrestlers may do 2 or 3 shows a week and work normally over 200 days out of the year, spending almost all their time on the road. They have to be in great shape to keep such a grueling schedule or they fall wayside and find themselves looking for another job.
