I don't give a shit, who's with me!?!?
I think the Colts will win, but I am rooting for the Bears because I hate Manning.
DA BEARS!
The game plan is simple, stop the running game and rattle the QB.
Colts the Bears offense is too hit and miss because of Grossman. Also the Colts have a great pass rush with Freeney and one of the most clutch kickers of all time.
After today I think it will be really good game. Both teams looked strong in polar opposite ways.
Indy will probably win. :annoyed:

The Colts. Definitely the Bears D was strong the first half of the season, but injury (Mike Brown) attrition has weakened that aspect of their game significantly. Urlacher will be scary as always.
Grossman can't be counted on, Lovie Smith will have to work out a gameplan that will somehow make the Bears score points even if Bad Rex shows up. How do you do that?
Force turnovers and special teams. But you nailed it with Brown being out so their pass defense isn't as good as it usually is.Quote:

Check that out, the Colts held the Patriots to just 93 rushing yds. I'm just simply stunned by the difference between halves. Corey Dillon avg. 6.9 yds/carry, the Pats could have won this game on the ground.
Daaaaaaaaa Bulls Da Bulls Da Bulls Da Bulls Da Bulls....
Nah, Da Bears.
Chi-town represent!!!
Both teams havce turned things around where they needed it, but by the degree of how much, Indy would come out on top. Indy has improved its D a lot. Chicago has Improved its offense significantly. The game could go either way, but I would love to see Manning get that rang. lol
You should make a sig...."MANNING GONNA GET THAT RAAAAANG, WHITEY!"Quote:

A part of me says "Give the Bears a win after 21 years", then reality sets in and says "The Colts are takin' home that rrraaaannnggg":lolz:
Well, according to ESPN’s online poll, the Saints were close to 70% to win…
Hmmm…
Flat out, people do not give the Bears or the NFC any credit at all and oh, how the mighty AFC has fallen. It will be a tight game and it’s hard to say but I will say this, IF the Bears do win, people will be stealing their thunder from now until eternity.
“The Colts had offensive problems and threw the game away, the Bears aren’t a good team…”
“The Colts had defensive problems and threw the game away, the Bears aren’t a good team…”
“The Bears lucked out…”
The FACT is that the Bears have for the most part, played well. Sure, there have been some up and down moments but ALL teams suffer from that be it AFC or NFC. Grossman has showed up both of their post season games, so has their defensive and offensive lines. They DOMINATED the Saints and I hope, they’ll do the same against the Colts.
I give it a 50/50...
GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being a Vikings Fan, I would have to say go Colts!
I've been saying it before the season even started....Bears will win the SuperBowl.
fuck the bears.
I've liked the Bears for going on 11 years and finally have a season to be proud of (05/06 wasn't terrible though). So (obviously) I'm going with them to win.
If the Patriots were playing I think we would be fucked, but the Colts definitely showed they have alot of weaknesses last game. As long as the Bears defense can keep up with forcing turnovers it'll be good, otherwise its time for me to wait X numbers of years again. :(
I havent watched football since varsity days. But I would say the team with the most points. :spock:
Colts. The Bears won because the Saints kept giving up retarded turnovers. I don't expect the Colts to do that. And Peyton can slice through any Defense.
The game was only so ugly in the beginning because they kept taking shots down the field. The minute they stopped, they put a damn good drive together.
Good times.
Any team that can impress against the Patriots simply has my vote. A proven, winning and strategic team like the Pats do not allow teams to comeback from these kind of deficits when in the playoffs and despite the fact they are not the power they used to be, the best team in the NFL found out the hard way the reason why they won 3 Super Bowls in 5 years.
You simply do not walk over the very definition of a team in any situation and to have the Colts comeback, despite the talent they have, is simply to big an accomplishment to ignore.
The Bears, unfortunately, have not proven themselves against teams that both the Pats and Colts had to contend with so unfortunately their mettle as a team is still in question.
As long as the Colts don't let this victory make them forget that there is still one game left to play:
Colts to win 41-21.
i want the bears to win, but the good money's ont he colts.
The Bears are overrated in my opinion. They have a QB that turns the ball over and can't handle pressure, and their secondary isn't very good right now. Indy specializes in the pass rush and their own passing game, which makes Chicago match up very poorly with them.
I would say the Colts will probably win, but its football, so anything can happen.
Why do people think the Bears aren't good? Well, the NFC is weak to begin with, plus their division is terrible, which means their schedule wasn't too tough. In fact, they beat the Vikings and the Cardinals by slim margins, and these teams are hardly super bowl worthy.
At this point, the Colts have played 2 games against the Ravens and the Patriots, and I can't imagine that the Bears will be tougher than either of those teams.
Very good points. I'd like to add that fan loyalty aside, people need to take a hard look at the difference in opponent quality/strength that the Colts overcame to get to the SB, compared to what the Bears went through.Quote:

Compare that with the Colts who played:
-Kansas City Chiefs: Larry Johnson was supposed to run right through the Colts D. Most analysts predicted the Chiefs to advance. The Chiefs are at least equal in quality to the Seahawks and Saints IMO. This is where you run into a problem right away. A wild card team in the AFC is every bit as good as comparatively strong NFC teams.
-Baltimore Ravens: Best defense in the league was supposed to completely shut down the Colts and they did a good job, but they didn't count on the 2005 Colts Defense to return. EVERYONE predicted the Ravens would totally destroy the Colts. Colts win a nail biter 15-6.
-Patriots: Tom Terrific was going to win on experience and flashing his 3 rings in every Colt's face. I can only think of 3 analysts that gave the game to the Colts, Shannon Sharpe, Dan Patrick, and Sean Salisbury. But for the most part again, the Colts were supposed to lose this one, although they gave them the benefit of a 'close' loss. They got a close win instead.
I think the Colts are far more prepared for a tough game, seeing as they've simply had to overcome far and away superior teams to get to the SB. I think there's a case to be made that the Bears haven't really faced much adversity during the regular season, and especially in the playoffs. For the most part when they ventured into the AFC this year they got beat, by the Dolphins and the Patriots. I gotta wonder if they really understand just the kind of shit they are stepping into. We know the Colts are ready, but I still have a question mark about the preparedness of the Bears.
Funny enough, I believed the team that beat out the Ravens was obviously SuperBowl bound. Their game against them almost felt like the Pre-Guarranteed SuperBowl game instead of just a playoff game. I'm leaning towards the Colts, on this one; mainly because if they bring that same team to the SuperBowl, they'll be quite formidable indeed.
The Bears defensive pressure caused those turnovers. They forced the Saints to play one sided by only passing.Quote:

Peyton will have to be godlike and flawless for the Colts if they're going to win.
That's not true at all. The Saints were coughing the ball up with fumbles.Quote:

Brees was not flawless against the Saints and in fact he made several bad throws. I expect Manning to play way better than Brees did against the Bears.

Peyton will have to be godlike and flawless? Come on thats way overexagerating isn't it? The Colts have prepared for this game by actually defeating really tough teams, the cream of the crop in the league. And lets face it, the Bears QB doesn't instill confidence in anyone, the way he treats the football like a hand grenade.
Ok screw it, this game isn't even going to be close, a 7 point spread in favor of the Colts is generous to the Bears. The superbowl was decided last night in Indy, the game held on Feb. 4th is a photo-op for the Colts. This team is NOTHING like what the Bears have had to face yet. Manning has so many weapons available, I don't think Urlacher can defend Wayne, Harrison, Clark AND Utecht all at the same time. If he can than he is truly out of this world. :D
Colts 35-28.
Interceptions, sure, those fumbles not so sure. The field was horrid. Passing (and Reggie Bush) were working for them. Maybe Duece being allowed to play or whatever would have helped the running game.Quote:

This game should be a breeze for the Colts. I'm looking for Rex to be just gross, man once again.
I have to go with the Colts and it could get ugly in the second half. Rex Grossman just seems to live in some bizarro world where when he sees a pass rush coming, he'll do anything to get the play to end, flipping the ball to the nearest player even if it is from the opposing team. He reminds me of that guy from the movie "Necessary Roughness" Pompke, who when he hiked the ball, he ran around flailing his arms scared of the pass rush coming that he would go to the ref and yell "Blow the whistle, Blow the Whistle...BLOW THE WHISTLE!" and BOOM, he gets smashed. If Dwight Freeney gets lose, GROSSman will piss his pants. I could see Manning going to Dallas Clark down the seam and getting some big plays. Wayne and Harrison should have great game. And Addai and Rhodes will get some runs that should at least keep the Bears D honest and should open up the play action. You can be sure Dungy will have great game plan since he showed Lovie Smith this version of the Cover 2, Dungy I'm sure would know how to exploit the Bears and whatever tweaks they have done.
I love it…the Saints threw it away, the field was shit, the Bears suck, this will be a cakewalk for the Colts…
No matter what happens no one other than Bears fans will give them an ounce of credit for ANYTHING they do.
This will NOT be a beating on either side. This is a well-matched game and will be a fight.
I hope to God that the Bears win and the fuckers that have been crying AFC>NFC for months will finally shut the fuck up.
The fact is that the NFC fell out just like it should have, the #1 team-vs- the #2 team in the championship with the #1 team winning, the AFC was the #1 and #2 ranked teams taking a shit early.
Baltimore was held to a garbage 6 points by a team with a defense rated 21st in the NFL…
#4 ranked offense San Deigo was outscored by the #11 rated Patriots…
Seems like a rock solid division to me…:spock:
In the NFL regular season the stats are as such (Overall 2006 NFL stats):
Colts: #3 offense - #21 defense
Bears: #15 offense - #5 defense
Not a bad match up, quite a bit more evenly matched than many say. Both teams have strengths and weaknesses.
Well I don't think it's a sure bet. The Bears are a good all-around team. Just because Grossman had a few bad games doesn't mean he sucks. He will only be better prepared with each game he plays. That being said, I believe the Colts should win the game. The momentum and energy they will feel after making that huge comeback versus the Patriots should pull them together to play a very solid game. The Bears will only win if they can force tons of turnovers and turn them into points.
The Bears. Defense wins championships and the colts Defense has been getting pushed around lately. The Bears rushing game should eat them up for most of the game.
No way, the Colts held the Ravens to 6 points. Most of the points the Patriots scored yesterday were off turnovers and bad special teams plays. You're right that the defense of the Bears might win the game for them, but that isn't anything to do with the Colts.Quote:

The Bears are giving up 340 yds/game vs. the Colts giving up 229 yds/game. The Bears are giving up 340 yds/game to offenses that aren't the Colts offense. The Bears D in the playoffs is not that good, and it would be foolish to think Manning won't exploit it.
At least someone else noticed this.Quote:

On top of all this, its practically his first real season based on the injuries he's had in past ones.
Lovey Smith said his team hasn't received any credit for what they've accomplished this season and its true. I can't believe that a team that went 13-3 is basically being called worthless.
I expressed the same thinking last season about the Seahawks and I was so right in the end. Like the Seahawks of '05, the Bears were in a very weak division. I don't hear people say a 13-3 team is worthless, but the ugliest 13-3 team ever? Yeah I can see that. Why? It was a one sided team that could only produce points on defense and special teams half the time. In some ways that's great, but it's also not a very reliable way to consistently win games.Quote:

Nobody gives the Bears the Credit they deserve!
what credit are you looking for? I never knew the Bears were such "underdogs"Quote:

However, the Bear's CB's seem to be getting burned constantly
by the Saints receivers. Manning will surely exploit that, and
take great advantage of it, and that means a lot of scores for
the Colts. The Bears will need to be playing at their best, on
both Defense and Offense, and Grossman needs to have
a great game, he's really bad when under pressure.
Not SB related, but Bears fans are funny:
