P.S. - That guy in the video looks like a douche.
Yeah, who cares about graphics.
I want to be able to play Ikaruga by waving my wand at the screen! Yes, next generation, here I come :).
Oh man. I want it....Quote:

I mean, I want a Wii, and I'm looking forward to seeing creative uses of the controller, but are you being serious?
Like he's even playing it anyway.
I'm sure it'll be fun, but that kid sure does look a fool. I guess they told him to look 110% involved in the game. I'm not too hot on some of the controls though, especially how he was steering the jeep. That looked a bit crappy. I also didn't like how the wire between the Nunchuck and the Wiimote seemed to get in the way of proceedings, swinging around everywhere as he was playing. Could get pretty annoying!Quote:

This is a gamble for Nintendo. I think the younger crowds, and people who see video games more as toys will be taken in by the controller, but more mature gamers will stick more to the staples offered by the PS3. The old style control schemes are by no means broken. The price difference didn't help Nintendo that much in the case of the GameCube, and the Wii is only $50 less than the standard Xbox 360.
If they can pull RE4 graphics on the better titles, I will be happy...
I'm sorry, but some people will see that ad and think what a stupid idea...
Some will say OMG look at how bad those graphics are.
Some will say OMG THAT LOOKS SO COOL.....
I care more about a real controller than great graphics.
The Wii has neither.
I'm a graphics whore. Always have been. Always will be. It's something that can be overlooked for certain titles. However, not on an everyday basis.
The coming console war will definately be interesting, because there are quite alot of unknown quantities thrown into the mix. One thing I should add is that some mature gamers are also being turned off by the PS3/Xbox360, because they bring nothing new to the mix apart from prettier graphics. I know that alot of my friends are going to get a Wii because they want innovation. I have to admit, the Wii specs (sounds rude!) also surprised me. This will go against it in some people's eyes. Personally, I'm willing to look past graphics; I want something new and interesting. It's going to be damn intriguing seeing how things unravel for Sony/MS/Nintendo over the next 12 months though!
On a different note, the kid in the video pulls the most hilarious face whilst paddling!:lolz:
I love good graphics, im sure the Wii is reasonably capable, I just fear developers will fall into the trap of not putting the effort in graphics wise, citing the obvious excuses.
That's what I thought too. You're in for a surprise.Quote:

When completely new games have to be made instead of doing a standard tri-platform release, it's a bad sign.
If no one cared about graphics we'd still be stuck in the Atari age.
Not really, but you know what I mean.
Someone who says the Wii's graphics are weak isn't a graphics whore, it's someone who wants something better.
i woulda have liked better graphics, but they are not a deal breaker.
It's 2x as powerful in many respects.... So take mario sunshine x 2, and that equals some damn fine visuals...
If you want the next gen look, get a 360 or a PS3.
That's not what the Wii is about.
really? that's very funny, considering you can use the GC controllers on the Wii.Quote:

I think it is going to be a while before we get a ton of good games that utilize all the Wii's bells and whistles without feeling gimmicky.
Graphics have reached a saturation point.
Congratulations. That is an absolutely nonsensical sentence that doesn't mean what I think you are trying to say.Quote:

Wether or not they will blow $300 is the question.
I'd say that about two of the seven DS games I own use the touch screen and dual screen to it's full or near full potential.Quote:

I don't know where I'm going with this.
I don't know why I'm talking about the DS for that matter.
:annoyed:
For Gamecube games, not for Wii games.Quote:

I'd like to add that I'm selling my PSP with it's much better than DS graphics to a co-worker of mine by the end of the month.Quote:

you know.
i play games alot laying down in front of the tv.
laying on my back in front of the tv.
and half the time sitting down.
this wii is gonna be a pain in the ass to play.
Only if the developer really wants to.Quote:

Or they port GC zelda and MIRROR THE WHOLE GAME
Like Super Smash Bros. Brawl?Quote:

They don't have much choice. Either something gutsy like this, or leave the console market. I would have chosen the latter. I thought the GC would be their last.Quote:

HD in and of itself isn't necessarily better. Certainly not more fun gamewise. I'm not so sure about motion sensor controls, but at least it's something new. Spending 50-60 for a new game that's just a better looking version of the same game I was playing on a PS1 gets annoying. The only thing that gets me to buy an Xbox360, for example, is the online aspect. The games alone could probably never satisfy me since it's all been done before. On the Wii, hey that shit might suck, but at least it hasn't been done before. If by some chance the motion controls are a lot of fun, the Wii is going to be hands-down the best of this generation in my eyes. Nintendo's been really good to me, though. The girlfriend loves it. The kind of girl I tend to go for is not a super bitch, she's sweet. And sweet girls usually like cute games. Nintendo games are good gameplay and girlfriend friendly for me. That company knows how to appeal to a mass audience.
Excuse me for not breaking that into paragraphs.
HD doesn't matter much to me when it comes to gamming..
Unless they plan on releasing a 2D, 1080p, Cell Shaded Last Blade III.
That'd be absolutely terrible.Quote:

Yeah it would have looked dumb and few people would have bought it, but essentially that's sort of what the Wii is. It's a valid point about the size of upgrade you're getting.Quote:

Normaly you stick with logical arguements and only throw out stray flames / funny comments as a last resort. Then again, conventional controllers probably aren't as fun as a Wii controller when you're geeked on coke.Quote:
