Depends how long they have been a member. It's post rate that counts, not total posts. If they're posting like 50 posts per day then that's just sad - get a life! The only thing I admire people for on here is having a good knowledge of neo geo tech issues and always helping people out when they ask, oh and doing good deeds for the community, such as D-lite making bulk purchases of power supplies etc.

Honestly, I think it depends on the particular member, because there's no real hard and fast rule.

I've seen new members that, not quite trolls but not quite intelligent, have posted their way into the top-10 posters (although this was more doable in the first several years, not now) only to fizzle out after a while.

Of the original moderators (I'm going to cheat a bit and call myself one, although I didn't get modded until midway though the first year), I have 12k posts since Dec '00, but JMKurtz (who has always been active) has just broke 1000 and he's been here since the start.

Some people like to write a lot, I've typed all of this in only a few minutes and I like to interact with members. I have no idea how long merc spends on his posts... even stream of consciousness those have got to take a while.

Anyhoo, it all goes back to it depends. Is the person involved, is the person contributing something positive?

Also, The War Room subtracts posts so many members posts don't go up too much if they either post there often or if a thread that has a ton of posts gets moved there :kekeke:
