Yeserday I....
I was going to Collaberate on a video with a friend of mine.
The video would include myself, in a wizard type robe with hood, playing drums in the forest. There would be fog, and psychedelic maddess, probably involving strobes, analog trickery and drugs. The video would also include my friend while she booty dances infront of a pool.
I had my car all loaded up with my drums, we met up and it started raining.
Poseponed.
I later went to a play called S.C.R.A.P. Which is pretty much a "store" in a shady ally in hunters point. What they have is random junk, its more or less a dumpser diving STORE.
I later went to a venue in Richmond, CA called Burnt Ramen to Catch Saros, Wolves in the Throne Room, Graves at Sea and Asunder play.
Good show, the venue is amazing, one of my favorites. Its covered in graffiti and you can do whatever you want inside.
Who gives a damn. Where are the pictures? C'mon Mookie... Stay black.Quote:

Wish I had a higher-paying job, but at least I'm not completely dormant while waiting to graduate. Teaching certification and legal paperwork red tape, you know how it is.
I should have a pretty interesting long-weekend in the life of post ready to go on Monday or Tuesday of next week. I've been at a seminar (dreary, dreary) in Orlando and had a chance to meet some members (should be 6 if things work out on Sunday), see a heck of a lot of central florida (live from Sarasota right now), and even, for the first time in 6 years and having met 60 members, get blown off by a member of the website --LOL.
Not John?Quote:

I was in Orlando for a seminar, but I had some free time here and there. I didn't bother with the theme parks, instead I explored parts of Central Florida, America's Wang (to quote Homer Simpson).
Wed:
This lizard was sitting right next to my door in the low-grade Holiday Inn I had booked myself into.
Nice night shot of downtown Orlando, here's a broader one across a lake in downtown. This is me and Mr. Pitt, who is a very fun guy to hang out with in person. I can say that I have yet to meet someone more thoroughly enthused about Neo than he is, it's like talking to an encyclopedia. He also had good taste in restaurants, and we checked out a nice place in the older neighborhood of downtown Orlando.
Thurs:
Thursday afternoon I visited Celebration, Florida --otherwise known as the small town the Disney built on their land south of the DisneyWorld parks. The land values were pretty damn high, but the town did a surprising job of feeling like a cliche small town (albeit with daytime tourists). Here's a pick of the town paper, a parking sign I found amusing. This is a photo of the center of town that faces a man-made lake/park with a path that goes around (the overall city plan is more like a half-circle, so the center of the town is at the center of the circle). This scene is a good image of Celebration, the Corporate Small Town: you have a guy fishing, nature passing through, and a Mexican gardner blowing those infernal leaves out of the way. It must look perfect! Our stock holders have expecations :p (the also had other guys going around and spraying anything that looked like a mosquito producing area of swamp). City Hall and the Post Office, a cool-looking Bank of America, the Canal that leads from the business main street and into the more dense residential (there are all varieties of housing here, all expensive too!), a main intersection sign (with the city's logo on it), another shot of the waterfront with classic-style theater (yes, there's an actual malt shop), here's a parting look at the commercial district.
After all that pre-planned quasi-societal yuppietainment, I decided to go and see classic Central Florida, redneck Central Florida. So I went to Gatorland (which my parents took me too when I was but a pup). They literally have stacks of gators, baby gators, and the odd giant tortise (the "small" one is actually pretty big, the large one was about 4 feet long --oh, and the smaller one had just bumped heads with the resting bigger one, so the bigger one actually used his leg to shove the smaller one away, which you're seeing in the photo --it was pretty amusing). This bastard ate 6 dogs before the caught it, it's last name may have been Pham. But enough "naturing", let's get down to some rednecking: Gator feedin' time! 1, 2, 3, 4 . Now, I don't know a whole lot about the biology of birds, but I do know that a duck with an afro is cool. I asked This guy if he had a myspace address, but I think I keep getting the name mixed up... (he didn't answer). Lots of crocs, crikey! A nice bird. It was interesting that the gators and birds were fine with each other. [urll=http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/Bobaklives/DayInTheLife/CentralFL/02-06-Florida041a.jpg]flamingos[/url], and, more importantly, some more redneckery: gator wrasslin' 1, 2.

Friday
Since I wasn't going to the theme parks, I decided to go explore the eastern coast of central Florida, taking A1A on the barrier islands. In Cocoa Beach I stopped by the famous Ron Jon surf shop, which is gigantic inside (that's less than half). This view would've been preferred, but most of the time I just saw the back of ugly apartments, condos, and gaudy houses. I finished this leg in Ft. Pierce, I wanted to see a manatee. Unforunately there weren't any in the Manatee Center, but I did meet this one (not too talkative up close).
Later that night I met up with Lets Gekiga In and neonightrider, we went to a local ale house and then went to Rocky's, one of the sad rarities in America: a bonafide, popular arcade. We met up there at 8 and it was busy, we first went to go eat, when we got back it was even busier! Until about 1am the place was jammed. It had Bust-A-Move and KOF11 (with a lot of people playing it). Once we turned on SF2 on the Ultracade, we actually got people interested --again, it was a good moment in gaming. It was a bit like a bar. Playing F-Zero, he nearly disappeared. Gratuitous group photo
OMG Satan!!! (I picked up the car with only 72 miles, I returned it with 1004... yeah, I like to drive)
Saturday/Sunday
Next day I went to the Tampa Bay area, and stopped in Ybor City within Tampa, which was having a street festival, another nice view of a newer development. I had some truly awesome deviled crab with our own, fellow mod and attorney, Geddon_jt.
As I crossed Tampa Bay, you could see St. Petersburg on the horizon.
Okay, sidebar: I don't know a whole lot about cars, but I know enough to take a photo of one of the biggest automotive flops in history, my first time seeing one in person.
I visited Fort DeSoto park/beach, which is supposed to be one of the very best in the country... I dunno. Here's a nice view from the top of the historic fort (I wouldn't want to swim that close to a tanker myself), and a view in the other direction. By coincidence there were a large contingent of Civil War reinactors in the park, witness the rebs and teh Un10nz (he wasn't into the Neo).
Here's the lead-up to the famous Sunshine Skyway Bridge. This sharp-looking bridge is actually the 2nd. The first was knocked out in a storm by a ship, leading several cars and a Greyhound bus to punge to their doom as they drove off the edge (killing 35). Ironically, over twice as many have jumped to their death since the new bridge was finished in '87. Interestingly, the state turned what remained of the old bridges (two parallel two-lane bridges) into the world's longest fishing piers. They run parallel with the new bridge and are popular. The one on the Southern side appeared to be the longer one. I finished the day in Sarasota, here in St. Armands Circle, before driving back. Sadly, I didn't have enough time to check all the interesting museums around... the Salvador Dali museum in St. Petes and the Ringling complex in Sarasota.
On Sunday I had a huge layover, but I was able to check out the famous Peabody Hotel Ducks (more info at this link). I didn't meet Elvis, but I did meet this guy.
The End (for now).
Awesome Bobak...

Tested the GRC RR 13.5 HP Racing Bike and It's real fast.
No problems,..though I was being very cautious on this bike being on it for the first time..:eek ..It's a Monster.
GRC GP.6.2 My first time on this bike too.
The front wheel washed out as soon as I got into the first turn,a spectacular, tumbling crash.:clap (cool thing was that several riders saw it as they were behind me..:D
My equipement saved my butt as I don't feel a thing...(thank goodness I bought leather)
The Bar end sliders saved the bike too..
Got right back on it and in the far back turn.the front wheel washed out again..BAM~~Sliding sown the track.
Lowered the tire preasure a bit and the bike was sticking a little better but It just felt like it was going wash out again..(tires would not stick)
Later on the GRC GP.
Racing around with two other riders,I went to pass them in the turn near the start of the race...I got too confident and whoosh the back tire washed out again.(It's like hitting black ice)..I landed on my butt with a smile..:p It was a quick spin fall.
Basically the ground was to cold today to heat up the tires to create stickiness..

this is the first time in 4 years I've seen Minneapolis absolutely crotch-kicked by the weather...
did I mention I was in LA since Thursday? There was this rare Arctic storm that made it down (hence Giby's snow) and just made LA a freezing 50 degrees. Of course, Minneapolis has reminded me not to get too impressed. At least I'm going to DC today for a few days. Even that schizo weather will seem more reasonable.
I'd rather face D.C.'s humidity than the dry cold snap that California is being held under right now.Quote:

My Day..
My $200.00 Pocket Bike Racing Tires are delivered today,These will keep me from washing out at the track..in other words "crashing" on one of the bikes I ride.
PB tires are extremely hard to get on plus to take the old ones off. They may be small wheels but that doesn't make it any easier.
I wasn't going to do this by myself as one mistake can ruin the rim and tire, but I accomplished it alone.
5 minutes after I was done putting the front tire on Ron shows up..:

I reset the cab and we started Goal,Goal,Goal again.(5 minute games)
Second Game.(we were progressing)..2 to 2 tie
Third Game 3 to 3 tie
Forth game 1 to 1 tie
Fifth Game I win 4 to 3 ..I had him 3 to 0 and he came back scoring twice real fast in the last minute.I scored the winning goal in the final 43 seconds then held him from scoring..
Sixth Game 1 to 2 he won scoring the winning goal in the last 4 seconds..

Baseball Stars 2
He started off first pitch hitting a Homer..Second Pitch Homer again...As I said to him,"Starting the bullshit already huh"

This thread is an opportunity to share either a normal day in the life of you or an interesting day/series like a vacation or something. Try and tell the day with photos and captions. It will help people get to know each other better and can be pretty interesting.

My roadtrip from MPLS to Fayetteville.
Friday, Sept. 1st
Rented a full-size car, got a Dodge Charger.

(downtown MPLS)
Amazing what driving through the upper-midwest can do to your grill

THE famous BBQ joint in Kansas City: Arthur Bryant's (original location; avoid the "beef" if you're like me and djdelly and hate fatty meat --Char Tips FTW!)

This is the most interesting act in Branson. Yes, it's that fucked up.

(Branson, Mo.)
This Go-Kart track was just about the only saving grace
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-01-06-10t.jpg
The "Strip"... let me tell you, The Simpson nailed this place when they called it "Vegas if it were run by Ned Flanders"
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-01-06-11t.jpg
This Titanic model was apparently big shit there, to us it was just...
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-01-06-12t.jpg
(We somehow found the one actual bar on the strip, which was across from our hotel. After a lot of cheap (cheap!) alcohol... 9 shots and a beer for myself, we went home and 2/3 of us had hangovers the next morning... Branson sucks)
Sat, Sept. 2nd
Eureka Springs, a pretty victorian-designed town in the Ozarks
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-01t.jpg
The 7-story Christ of the Ozarks... one of the ugliest statues of Christ I have ever seen. You look at this guy and think "there are statues that, if they were to come to life, you know would be cool: The Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore; the Jesus in Rio... If this statue came alive, it's gigantic brow would suddenly furrow and then its eyes would grow red... and all would drown in a sea of blood (did I mention the man who had this built was a crazed racist?)
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-02t.jpg
Still... I did my best Buddy Christ to get ready for the game
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-04t.jpg
I'm a bit of an architecture nut, and I had to see the Thornecrown Chapel

The original Walmart, now a museum on Sam Walton's life
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-07t.jpg
(Bentonville)
The orignal Walton's faced this square that sported this large monument to the Confederacy. Note the "make-up" flags ;)

Fayetteville, small college town home of the Razorbacks; this is Dickson Street, the main drag
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-10t.jpg
Old Main, their school's one notable building other than the stadium (a little disappointing compared to others)
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-11t.jpg
Razorback Stadium is beautifully set in the middle of the Ozarks
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-12t.jpg
The other side of the stadium:

The impressive, high-quality "PigScreen"; alas she couldn't sing worth a damn and was mercifully cut off by the F-16 Flyover.
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-14t.jpg
Razorbacks take the field! They broke the attendence record of their stadium, 76,500+ were there!
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-19t.jpg
It's like a Comics Cross-over... can you guess who?
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-17t.jpg
Garbage time ;)
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/temp/...-02-06-21t.jpg
The Spirit of Troy celebrate another win; yeah, a lot of USC fans stay for this... the band on our campus was actually respected.

Ever seen this many octane choices?

put 3000 miles on the Charger in 3 days.
