Yeah.
Blast away Sega, and go, go, GO! :buttrock:
I wish them the best of luck for their new baby.
-
Wow. I really want to play that tennis game. Hopefully we'll see a release on consoles.

Is it me, or is that girl's pants falling off? Potential wardrobe malfunction? :loco:
-
Hey Mushiki, don't tell me you were invited to that show ;)
The pics look amazing, but I'm wondering if the next gen consoles will be even superior to that. I also hoped a picture of the harware itself but it's OK.
And by the way, Rafa Nadal is in Power Smash 3 :buttrock:
-
Is it me? Or is the After Burner game the only one that looks remotely interesting?

Its just you. Virtua Tennis 3 looks like pure sex. PS3 port please!
-
Incredible pix.
Great Thread.
Go Lindbergh!

Yup, but Nalbandian already was in the PSP version, but not Nadal, and right now he is the revolution of the circuit. 2nd in ATP after Federer and he is only 19 years old I think.
Nadal > Nalbandian ;)
-
its just a beefy pc , but cool I guess
gone are the days of custom arcade hardware
I wonder if they made the bios and os too or its just a 2k kernel again .. yawn
-
It's not just Buro... VF5 looks good don't get me wrong, but I think they've overdone it this time. I liked the looks of the characters in VF4, now I just dunno. Can't put my finger on it but it just looks... "MEH". After Burner Climax (great title) does make me want to blast some Kenny Loggins and get revenge against the world for letting my RIO die.

no one wants to program for custom hardware anymore.
yawn.
psyphi looks cool :chimp:

No, but it's the only one that has antialiasing issues. :kekeke:
-
I am not terribly impressed by any of those pics.
They all look like they could easily be running on the XBox 360 this winter.
The Tennis game almost looks like a regular XBox game.
ZZzzzzz

some of yous are to negatif. VF5 looks great (awesome on the mexican lucha libre contender) - maybe a generation or 2 before photo realism.
Virtua Tennis will be alot of fun as usual, don't much care how good the graphics turn out in this case.
Aferburner looks excellent mostly because it looks to be retaining the original flavour. and that is mad.
the other game could turn out to be cool but I'm not too interested:
http://watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs...102/sega19.jpg
fire is coming from inside his trousers. that's stupid.
Nadal>>>>Nalbandian, Coria, and all other Argentine contenders.
Argentinian Tennis is full of losers.
-
All I can say is wow. I would love to get my hands on that virtua fighter and power smash tennis.

#1> Yes but who the hell wants "Photo Realism". By then the industry should call Interactive Gaming what it will then be... Virtual Reality. Right now games still somewhat look like games, but too much so called realism, at least to me detracts from the overall "Surreal" nature of losing myself in a "Game". Oh well.
#2> AB does look great, it's got bitchn' graphics but it still LOOKS like a video game.
#3> Yeah I noticed the flames in his pants too. Guess that's what a bad case of an STD will do to a guy. I'll bet his super desperation move is a hoot.

 I'm not into tennis, but that game looks so real I want to play it. Too cool. VF5 looks totally awesome too.
-
That PSY game looks really awful, both graphically and in design.
The others are fine I suppose, not terribly impressive though. Afterburner will most likely turn out to be pretty cool.
-
Seen some of these pictures before, and they all truly look beautiful.
And by the way, Psy Phi is going to be a touch screen fighting game, if anyone was wondering. After Burner does look amazing. Are we going to see a beautiful, new Motion-cockpit cab? We can only hope!!
-
the graphics in afterburner look really bad, pixelated in places. Everything else is "acceptable."
-
...
...and a new chapter of Virtua striker? :p
Tom(ITA)

VF 5 looks terrific, but Power Smash looks a bit dated. Either way, I'm happy to see Sega back in action. Hope things work out for them, and I hope they're able to get back near the top.
-
Looks really cool.
Is the new hardware based on any of the upcoming consoles?

Looks awesome.
VF5s new bloke looks crap tho.

Indeed one of the only things in a long time to make me go *wow*.

After Goh, the series has nowhere to go but down in the character dept. One thing that VF never did well was character design. Incredible fighting engine, great realism, super depth, and very very balanced play. Good characters? Meh. It's not about the characters, it's about the fighting, so it will be incredible as usual. HOWEVER, did I not here that Yu Suzuki is NOT doing VF5 and stopped at Final Tuned? Am I wrong?

It's not even that. AMD and Intel have been slugging back and forth at each other for so long and driven prices so low that you just can't match the price/performance value of an x86 processor with anything.
Before anyone chimes in with 'A ha, but what about the Xbox 360', I'll remind you that more than a little bit of Microsoft's decision revolved around getting away from the hackable PC architecture. There are certain things about the X86 processor that lend themselves very well to hacking, that simply don't apply to PowerPC/MIPS and the like. Not to mention 20+ years of programming/hacking experience throughout the Internet. :)
I think the best example of this would be Apple: They've spent literally millions of dollars to create Rosetta so that PowerPC code will run on new Intel-powered PowerMacs. They wouldn've have spent those millions of dollars if they didn't think they could earn it back through both faster processors (higher gross, and higher profit margin) and better performing, cheaper processors.
I have to say though, I was pretty suprised by Sega's move to run these games on bog-standard Intel hardware; my prediction is that they'll be running on PCs within a year of being released in the arcades. People are just too good at disassembling x86 code; no matter how many HASP checks they write into the game, it will be cracked.

Ahh.. shut up.
Argentina has 4 players in the Top 15, that's more than any other country.

Not just you.
VF has always been boring to me.
And I don't care much for tennis games.

WWWWWWWwwwooooooooooooooooWWWWWWWWWW!!! Those games look fucking awesome. I wanna play that Tennis game. Its looks unbelievable. Even Afterburner looks great. I am impressed. :D
-
they all look like loser games to me.
I love the character selection in Virtua Tennis, but the game looks like ass outside the character select screen.
-
-
hole shit man, i just wet my pants.. those pictures are amazing...
cant wait to play virtua tennis, it looks yummy...
-
-
I've always been a sucker for Sega style Arcade games
hopefully Afterburner and PSY-PHI deliver
Virtua Tennis is so so (I loved the first, but is there really much more you can do in the series?)
and I suck at VF5, though I like playing it
-
AFTER-FUCKING-BURNER, BITCHES!!!
Seriously, that game looks AWESOME.
If it has the same old-school feel as Out-Run2, count me in.
