Your "Dream Guitar" thread.

After reading LWK's guitar thread and seeing that so many members here are actually guitarists, I thought I'd start a new thread moving in a different direction.

So, tell us what your dream guitar is and why? Please try your best to narrow it down to one absolute choice, and if you can find some pictures to post that would be awesome. This guitar can of course be one that you already own, one that you plan on owning one day, or simply a guitar that you could never afford or is impossible to find. Everyone has a dream guitar, So bring em' on. Stand on your soapbox and shout it!

I just purchased my dream guitar, and I'm very excited.

I have pretty much stopped playing guitar. But I also purchased my "dream guitar" about a year ago. It is a 1969 Fender Mustang Competition. It is orange with a dark orange stripe. Not a reissue, original. I love it. The pic below isn't mine, but mine is exactly the same:

I'm too lazy to link an image, but I likes me the Gibson SG. Such a beauty. Got a versitile sound as well. Prohibitivly out of my price range for the moment, but good things do indeed come to those who wait.

i'd love, love to get a rickenbacker original 4001 in azureglo. if someone ever gave me one i'd put down my v and only play bass.

but as far as guitars go, i'd say other than my v which i love, its a toss up between a rick 360 and the 620.

i'd also love a gibson marauder, even if it sucks.

a custom guitar (warmoth most probably)

soloist body, 25 1/2 neck scale (24 frets with a custom headstock), HH config (ToneZone and Paf PRO), separate tone and volume pots for each, fixed bridge, berry purplish finish, with gold hardware :drool_2:

1965 Fender Jaguar, before fender was bought out, i can't remember who bought them, it was something like rca or nbc or something. anyways, that or a dan armstrong would be pretty neat.

I really like those Fender Telecaster Thinlines. But If I were to buy a new guitar, I'd get the G&L version. Otherwise an Epiphone Coronet (vintige), or a "The Strat", my guitarist in my band has one and it's the shit, (and I normally don't care much for strats).

New guitars have no soul, go for the Coronet. If you don't have to fight with your guitar onstage to make it do what you want it to do, you're just playing this game on easy mode. ;)

They feel like squier? You're on crack man.

Huh, Did you already play on a BC Rich? It's everything but cheap. It's rough. These guitars have the most extreme and fierce sound you can find for a guitar.

Anyway, I wouldn't play brutal death or black on a fender boy.

So what's the link between ESP and Japan? Are these made in Japan? Every time I'm over there I can't walk into any guitar shop without there being a huge amount of super custom ESPs.

Comfort is a big issue, but if you get too comfortable things can get a little ugly... :p

Comfort is THE issue with me. I put comfort before I even put sound. Its that important to me. Wood tonal quality also.

I feel that if the sound sucks I can just mod it with different pickups.

1. You're lucky as hell man.

2. Comfort isn't a big issue for me. Sound first. I almost never play when sitting so no need to have a curve in the middle of the guitar to put it on the thigh.

yeah, the only problem with that is steve von till from neurosis plays through a stratocaster. don't try to tell me they arent heavy. i have a warlock bass, its a pos.

i've tried the warlock and the mockingbird before, didn't do it for me. the BC Rich dealer is near at my house FYI.

they do feel cheap, IMO. :(

The beast has a really rugged sound, so Tristesse is somewhat right about the sound. I like the sound. I wouldn't mind using this neck if I could get another body and do a straight up part swap.

my buddy has an 80's BC Rich mockingbird and it feels awesome. You know, one with the neck through and natural wood finish with abalone inlays? I believe that BC Rich is a good brand, as long as you don't go for one of the piece of shit low-cost beginner models.

Edit: does this look like a piece of shit to you? It's a new mockingbird, but it's obviously not made of crap materials like most new BCs are.

Meh, I don't really like strats or les pauls myself. The sound is just so...normal. Maybe they're fine if you have a big love for effects pedals, but aside from that I see no personal need for one myself. Just not my style to go down the paved road.

That looks like a custom to me. Cranky is right. Hes referring to most BC rich's, which often use design above the actual comfort, which to me is ignored completely.

Ha ha, that's why there's a so large guitar market. ;)

I wouldn't say any other type is less relevant to play such ot such style, that's just my own sound feeling with this brand anyway.

I've tested a squier and it sure had an impressive sound, but not why I exactly wanted from my personnal tastes.

Anyway, as long as I can play daily on my little sweet (and cheap) Lag RX 100, it's more than alright! :tickled:

My dream guitar ? Damn... too many.

But I'd like to have at least 3 more guitars to add company to my Jackson 'Friedman' Kelly.

A top ESP M-II , Kirk Hammet's Jackson Randy Rhoads and ESP/Gibson Explorer.

i cant say much for the color combination however. silver hardware and ivory pickups.

and the bridge lacks style. i think it could do for a tailpiece.

i love my gibson, even if most of the cost was the name :chimp:

no BC Rich ever looks nice. they sound ok ... but seriously ... they look goofy as hell! :oh_no:
