I used to drive the shit out of an 87 Saab 9000 T. My last Car was a 93 Accord EX coupe.

I drive a 02 civic EX right now..... It can't compare to my old accord.

Here is a front pic. I very rarley take her out for a spin since I moved to Florida, since there are no real tracks in my area. No more pics for today must put her back to sleep. :make_fac:

Im coming to steal your car

car was given to me yesterday.
81 celica supra.
not sure what i'm going to do with it though.
one friend says turbo it, another says NA.
both know what they're talking about, and have hook-ups for all the shit i'd need.
i kinda don't want to turbo it, and would rather just let my friend who works in an engine shop go NA crazy on it, but the speed for the price that turbo offers is rather tempting.
the thing's got a 116 hp inline 6.
i'll have pics of it later today.

Are all fucking srt drivers toolbags? I was driving my car to go on a one lane road when an srt got on my ass and started chirping his blow off valve. He pulled up along side me and some words were exchanged with my passenger. He then attempted to spit on my car but since we were moving it just blew back all over the side of his car. :kekeke:

Real racing involves using the steering wheel, and real race cars are most definately NOT automatics.

and wtf are you talking about? autos dont multiply torque or any such nonsense. Quite the opposite, they sap a good amount of power, and tend to get lower fuel economy to boot.

ehh no. I know for a fact Rally is manual, mostly clutchless but manual none the less. I'd imagine many other race types use clutchless manual or just normal manual. Automatic is only returning when you see those 600+ HP super cars a normal person couldn't control.... ( I may be wrong about that part)

rally's are mostly manual. but when the first subaru WRX came into the WRC it was automatic *the more you know* :chimp:

and as for racers using autmatics more go look at a dragstrip. the drag racers all use autos why? cause then they don't have to worry about shifting it does that for them and they can focus on going 250 miles an hour down the strip in their funny car. now i don't think i'd want to get into it about these kinda facts with magna cause the man knows what he's talkin about.

Actually, in an automatic transmission 100% of the engine's horsepower is converted to torque in the torque convertor . In fact, modern automatics deliver just as much mileage as standard transmissions. Some, due to automatic overdrive, can yield higher fuel mileage than manual transmissions.

Most who modify these Japanese cars flog them at the drag strip. Drag racers usually choose automatic transmissions. I've only seen 1, maybe 2 drag racers who use manuals and they don't usually win.

And i havent seen ANY AT car with higher rated mileage than the MT version. It doesnt happen. there is more drivetrain loss, and more weight.

If you'll research it, most cars equipped with automatics are tuned to produce lower horsepower and more torque. You are aware that the difference between torque and horsepower is time, correct?


Horsepower and Torque:

HP=2pi(r)RPM(t)/33,000

Torque is simply a ft per lb.

Automatic overdrives yeild higher highway mileage than manuals due to lockup torque convertor technology. I fail to see how this is an argument today. 10 years ago, you were right.

Boring or not (tastes are subjective), drag racing is still a very popular sport today. Automatics don't miss, can usually handle more abuse and therefore are the prefered transmission for drag racing.

Im well aware of the relation between HP and torque thank you.
This may be true for cars that are only availble as AT, but most cars are availble with either, and the output is the same. there are of course a few exeptions, but i cant think of many. (i can only think of the NSX, which has less HP AND torque for the AT)

they are better than they were 10 years ago, but still not as good.
(eg: Acura TSX, 22/31 for manual, 21/30 for AT).
