haha
I knew I hated him for a reason.
If he really hated the property, why would he have even bothered to play it in the first place, past the first one anyway?
lol @ graphics being the whole point of videogames.
What, he's not allowed to hate a series that's outperforming his? What's unusual about that? And who can hate Itagaki? He cracks me up every time he opens his mouth. And he's right about Death By Degrees being a train wreck of a piece of shit.
He kind of reminds me of a videogame industry version of TonK (except funnier) in that he takes an already whackadoo opinion, and then completely beats it into the ground -- mostly for shock value.
Tekken does suck...
And Itagaki defineatly doesn't think graphics are the most important thing in a game, just look at the top 5 he gave.
I wouldn't play either series considering sega still makes VF games. :chimp:
Probably because he was trying to keep an open mind and see if they changed it up for him, in a later release. There are people who do indeed still give some games or systems the benefit of the doubt, even with either bad earlier experiences or preconceptions.Quote:

Saying anything else would be like Miyamoto praising the Sonic games and telling you to buy them instead of Mario.
To go as far as to pick all the games in a series is retarded.Quote:

Keep it 2D niccas.
From a guy who plays both DOA and Tekken I must say he is a fucking retard. DOA takes about half of what it takes to play Tekken and 1/4 of what it takes to play Virtua Fighter.
He must have a super inflated ego to even mention the shit he said.
The man is consistent.Quote:

Actually, you should've been at Otakon. There were plenty of people who would prove that Theory wrong. DOA has some very mean high-level play, these days. But nothing over VF. I'd easily say well comparable to Tekken if not a bit more. Everybody who says DOA is all simple just hasn't played it seriously enough or put enough time into it. They think the moment they look good, that's all there is to learn. Until they meet up with someone who really learned to play it well, and that takes time. I invested quite a bit and I barely held my own in Otakon. Anybody of lesser skill got creamed.Quote:

I'd rather play the other 4 Hits also. EVEN DRAGON WARRIOR II.
fuck tekken
Well, I wouldn't go that far. I actually like all 3 top-known 3D fighting game licenses, myself. Well, ok, I did NOT like Tekken 4, and I can't even go back to Tekken's that were before 3, anymore. Still, I take them for what they are. It's just that Tekken and DOA does allow you to play casually while VF does not. What I do like about DOA, is that a lot of grounded good strategic basics I can steal straight from VF and incorporate them into my game plan. So I actually re-studied certain characters adding in VF-stuff into them. (Particularly Lei-Fang) This mainly works because both licenses come from the same advanced basic engine. They just went in a bit of a different direction with it. It really helped my game and without them, I would not even be good enough with her to go against today's seasoned VETs. Like I said before, putting DOA online with Ultimate really has brought out the REAL players of the game. It's fantastic playing mind-chess with them and I await to go against them in DOA4.Quote:

Dragon Quest II is the best game on that list.Quote:

The Tekken system straight up offers more and requires more. This is not an opinion, its a fact. Its the same way Tekken trails behind VF because VF requires more than Tekken. High level play can bring a game to a new level but only so far. Cut and Dry.
I doubt he bought it, or would ever buy it, unless they did something to change his mind. But he might've experienced it at the arcade. You don't pay much for that. The only thing I doubt is how much patience he had to try the new game and find if the improvements were to his liking. Or did he just stop after initial impressions.Quote:

And as one of his 2 main rivals (only rivals, really), I'm sure he has played the shit out of all the Tekkens (and all the VFs, for that matter), just to see what his competetors are up to. He'd be an idiot not to. You think the SNK programmers never played the Alphas or the SF3s?
Well, now that you say it...Quote:

It's probably jealousy but he's right.
Tekken is a steaming pile of shit.
DoA is a piece of shit too though, it plays like Virtua Fighter but without all that troublesome depth. :chimp:
bahahahaahaha :chump. is now :chimp.
Maybe you shouldn't comment. I doubt you've played either game and are just talking out of your ass.Quote:

It's a weak VF clone with the world's dullest cast and very pretty BGs. *yawn*

I never liked Ninja Gaiden's dial-a-combo or it's cheap difficulty. Don't get me wrong, it's a really great action game, but DMC/DMC3>>>>>Ninja Gaiden.Quote:
