Interesting coins

This is a pic of PNGs unique Kina coin, complete with crocodiles and hole in the centre.

In the old days they used shells as currency here, often wore around the neck for bride prices etc, the tradition remains with the current coinage.

Any others ? I seem to remember some other county with square coins, maybe Burma?.

btw the Kina is worth about USD .31 and GBP .17

The awesome steel penny. Supposed the copper was used for bullets during the war. These pennies tarnished really easily. So mint ones like that arent very common *just guessing this, I have a grip of these that look horrid*

If you can find a 1943 penny like this thats copper you can supposedly sell it for a million dollars. Some publication said this a long time ago, so did the news. It seems like bs to me, its a historical deal though and really cool =P

I have a whole bunch of coins from around the WWII era. They're not exactly in mint condition, but with a little cleaning, I could probably get a pretty penny for the lot.

I like the fact that people in the US want to get "in god we trust" removed from coins...

I will say that I am going from the micro to the macro - an undeniable truth is that a triangle has 3 angles - if this where to be the only premise to hold water, then it would turn out to be absolute truth as far as we can contemplate it to be so.

beyond this - the lack of absolute truth is in itself an absolute truth?

Actually, this is the problem with using the terms 'fact' and 'truth' interchangeably. 'Truth' has epistomological implications, while 'fact' does not.

Translation: these are actually two different words with slightly different meanings.

While a fact may be undistibuted an 'absolute truth' has implications,which rest on faith and is therefor incapable of being absolutely factual.

Not disappreciation, I tend to argue in the concrete and not in the abstract. When people allude to things as 'paths' or 'lines' I get lost easily without reference points, definitions and plausible assumptions.

I've studied philosophy in addition to theology and continually do so.

Mathmatics often times are based on assumptions (Geometry & Trig. for example). The key point in math is that it coorelates to the physical world. Such that if such a thing fails, either the math is wrong or the assumption is wrong.

but look into Plato's concept of mathematics and truth. mathematics can be considered truth. not just fact. a shape does not need to exist physically for it to exist as an idea.

philosphy has many a time tried to bridge fact and truth. you know this. the attempt to draw absolute truth from what we can know.

mathematical axiums cannot be denied unless there is such thing as a malin genie. even then they cannot be denied. mathematics does not necessarily correlate to the physical world. that is simply your assumption.

used in Wallachia at the time of Vlad Tepes - 'nuff said - though during is reign no coins where issued as far as I know - these are of his father's time, who was himself the real 'dragon' and not his son. I really want this coin.
