DAMN! If that game ends up playing as beautiful as the game looks, I'll have to save up for an Atomiswave Upright w. this game in it when I buy it! Though I don't see Jagi or Heart like I did in earlier photos. I also wonder if others are going to make it into the finished game because while the characters so far are cool (Well I never cared for Juda/Yuda) I can't see them making a game this damn good looking and leave out Falco of Gento Koken, Shu of Nanto Hakuroken, Cloud Jyuza to name a few.
*And is it just me or is that banged up car/vehicle in the background with Ken and Shin/King fighting Morgan's stupid SUV he kept rolling around in during the 3rd story arc of the first series? Or is that supposed to be Bat's car?
I also wonder if the game will have the same ridiculous blood letting of the movie and towards the end of the first series as Ken & Raoh/Ken Oh lost enough blood for a small village full of people.

What hardware is this running on? Very nice
IGN has some videos, they are somewhere around here. Check in the MS6 thread in News and Rumors I believe. There's been about 5 threads about the samething today.Quote:

just to clear things up - the rumour was pre-show and was due to the game not being listed on Sammy's schedule. something along those lines. now it has been confrimed for AW though, so I think its firm.
about team mode - I've read that this may just be striker assist type thing. not sure but I think this is likely.
I hope you're right, cause carts > gd-roms (imo) :buttrock:Quote:

Damn, this looks like pure sex. I want to see more screens of Rei. I hope we see a quick port of this, since not many of us are set up to buy newer arcade boards.
This is looking better all the time.
I don't know, but somehow that stage almost kind of reminds me of Hokutomaru's stage in MotW, but after armageddon...Quote:

This looks awesome! I can't afford a cab, let alone an atomiswave now, so I'll pray for a port :emb:

DESTROYED???
we'll soon find out...
I'll pray for a port, because there is now "Active" Arcades for miles and miles :crying:
Looks great, but looks like it has the same average animation as GG.
Hopefully it plays differently from GG.
The Picture of Shin with his aura around him makes my sechs fall out.
Feels like i have been waiting for this game FOREVER! All the time i spent playing the sucky Snes Hokuto fighters and now i get something like this!
There is a god!
Now where are those exploding heads?

Dude, the game is being programmed by Arc System Works (the people behind the Guilty Gear series) not a Sega in-house team. :rolleyes:Quote:

As long as it plays great, 10 characters is good enough for me.
Every fighting game doesn't need a massive roster of 40+ characters.
In case the A-Cho arcade in Kyoto gets this game in the future, I got a folder already reserved for A-Cho HnK match vids.
A-Cho has some has some fierce GGXX#R action, those guys are so good they even bring out the full potential in low tier characters!
sure, MotW is a good example, but still... :) If they could push the number to 14 that would be nice.Quote:

Many like me can't understand how we get another "Fat Guy" POS of a human like Heart (you know the typical Jack from AOF, Big Bear from Fatal Fury etc.) with a limited range of motion or technique instead of a guy like Shu the blind Nanto Hakuroken fighter who made Rei look like a pansy, and that's saying a lot considereing how bad ass Rei is. Hell street fighter Ain (Ayn) should be in here with his red, white and blue American self. Most of the ppl on there so far are worth it, but I'd have to say that Heart and even Juda is pushing it. I'm just glad the kept Amiba out of the lineup since he didn't do much except decieve and mimick Toki's style.Quote:

Cloud Jyzua
SHU
Shura (misc. maksed fighter)
Golan Army Colonel
Mountain Fudo
Wolf (the western guy from 2nd series)
Hyo (Ken's ultra fucked up twin brother)
Juukei
KAIOH
+ Raiga & Fuuga as a mid boss
...but maybe I'm asking too much? Me thinks not.

I spoiled my knickers a couple of years ago when Xebec Toys came out with the 200X series of kickass figures, but this is next level. My loins are tingly.
That's sort of the problem. It always reminds me of in the old cartoons like Scooby Doo, the background would be real light were a secret door or something was to open. The character sprites just seem like cutouts in the pictures.Quote:

all of you complaining about the lack of characters have to remember that they'll most likely add more if a sequel is made
it's the way of the fighting games

That's one of the major reasons I've never cared for the genre. Because say you have a game with 15 characters in it. Usually two are clones of another one (meaning three of basically the same style with slight differences) and then 2 characters are "Cheeseball" and or token mutant (think Blanka) or some Fat dude with basic moves (think Jack from AOF). That leaves what now???
TEN characters that might be different and worth learning to master. If it's a game with 10 to start with then usually it's only 6 of the characters that are worth it. I know us Hokuto No Ken fans should be thankful such a great looking and well thought out game has finally come out, albeit 21 years after the series first came out... but with that much water under the bridge and making it as good as it looks (GOD I hope the play feels right), something like HNK should have at least the character roster I came up with. Honestly it wouldn't bother me if neither Heart or Mountain Fudo were not in it. Why? Neither really did much of anything in the series at all, save being extremely tough. Which is my my second biggest gripe in a VS. FIGHTING game. The game should look and play good with characters that are fun to play and entertaining. Wasting time with mutants that elecrocute ppl or Fat dude who have a basic drop kick is taking a way a roster slot from some character who's bad ass looking and has techniques from hell. Having to wait for a sequel to have characters that should already be in the game is ass backwards. The game would sell even better with more to pick from right off the bat. You could do the +5 new characters thing then and get away with it better that way.
Some of us want our cake and eat it too, but unfortunately have to eat from the same feedbag as everyone else and what's put in it by the companies looking to arse rape me with no lube. Fucking degenerates! And with as good as the AW "Hokuto" game looks, I still want to see a bootleg MVS cart of...
http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/2708/hnk3qn.gif
and shit I'd rather have my HNK fix on the MVS NEO:GEO however, I could get it. The above pic that showcases what that dude Zat and his droogs are capable of shows how bad ass it could've (could still be) in low res 2-D. *Hell those guys even got Raoh's hair color right... cause I don't know what the fuck Arc Systems is doing + the Gento Koken fighters are in the above version.

Oh...im not new here, just dont post much :).
lots of other pics & info in the News Thread of the Arcade Section:
http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128039
and it's great to see that they added nice character interactions and some Fatal Techniques like this slick one of Kenshiro's:
http://image.com.com/gamespot/images..._screen011.jpg
Actually it seems like this may only be unique for Yuda(Player 1), as the eyepatch guy was his Second-in-Command in the storyline and the other one looks like the midget who used a pole and worked under Amoeba...there haven't been screens with anyone else using henchmen yet and their lifebars are rather small besides...Quote:

Definately going to play this when it comes out. It HAS to be for atomis wave. PLEASE.
edit- Did you all check out those videos?? Holy shit this is going to be great. I was hoping the sprites would be a bit bigger, but it looks amazing. Very GGXX-like.
Grizzly King: Aaah... How someone can bitch at this game after seeing those amazing screens is beyond me... Seriously. o_o
I'll try to make it short:
-They're going for quality rather than quantity, which is great to me... Look, not only are the sprites high-res, but they also animate better than any of Playmore's low-res sprites ! (Playmore = owned)
-Why they chose to put Heart in is OBVIOUS: they want to diversify the roster by adding a fatty, they added Mamiya for the same reason: having at least one female
-The 2D fighting scene is NOWHERE near as big as it used to be
-Your standards on how a fighting game in 2005 "should be" are all in your head... Lighten up. Look at other fighting games around. Things don't keep evolving or growing at the same pace as years pass.
-As already been stated, if the game is successful enough, there's always room for a sequel with more characters...
