I'm tired of all this Resident Evil 4 and Metroid Prime hyp3 and I'm on the verge of buying a cube on amazon. I've got a black console + RE4 + Prime + Ikaruga + Twin Snakes + Memory Card + a couple more, non-cube, random shit.
About $200 all together. Am I a wuss for not proceeding with my check out?

I would. Sounds good. I debated with it over Christmas for Mario Tennis, but decided not to. For only one game I felt stupid.

Make sure to get the Wavebird if you are getting the cube. It is the best wireless controller.

I went ahead and bought the whole thing and I added a Wavebird to the list too. I bought the items from different vendors, so it'll be hell to keep track of all my shipments now. I am also now $250 poorer. :crying:
Ikaruga was actually the reason why I first considered to buy a cube. I've been wanting to play that game for years and only recently did I realize that it's available for the old GC. I beat WW at a friend's house, so I'm in no rush to buy that right now (I still want it though :drool_2: ) and as for Double Dash, I've played it and it just didn't seem as fun as Mario Kart 64 to me. Maybe it's just because I haven't spent enough time on it.
I'll probably be picking up WW along with the RE remake and maybe Tales of Symphonia after I'm done with this batch of games.

i'm not a die hard next gen gamer like the rest of any of the folks here
but i play my gc and xbox and gba nowadays about 60% of the time.
the only people really shorting the gc are the game developers really
the folks that devote games to the gc hardware like capcom have made
some really nice games for the gc though.
if you're looking for tales i have one if you're looking to get one later.
i don't play rpgs at all anymore.

It may not have the huge quantity of releases that the ps2 does, but the games it has are gold.

The only people that shortchange the cube are the twerps who dont bother to actually find out what games are good, and that are more concerned about justifying their "maturity" based on what video games they play.

Dude, it's definitely the least of the 3 systems out now.
But for the love of god go and buy one. They're so cheap and at this point you don't have to worry about the GC having limited numbers of good games coming out, you have the entire back catalog of big GC games to go through.
The Cube really shines when you have friends over, 3 of them in fact. If you can get 4 friends over frequently enough the GC is worth double its price.
The cube is the best system to buy.
It's the cheapest and it's got the best games.
Over the next 10 years, the cube will stand up as the best system of it's time.
If the Revolution is as bad as Jhendrix and it's nay sayers say it will be, then your just better off with a cube.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. The cube costs like $80 now. If you can't find enough games in the cubes library to make it worthwhile you suck at life.

And yeah, the other game that made me want to buy the system is the Twilight Princess. It's going to rule so much it's not even funny. I've been checking other games in the console too, and now there's a bunch of them that I will most definitely have to play, including Pikmin and Paper Mario.

for multiplatform, ther are a couple of good games out there. Like spiderman 2, which is not an exclusive, but i played it for a little bit and it felt very comfortable on the gcn, then ultimate is coming out. Then you have the prince of persia saga which is one of the best games out there right now....

Spy Hunter is cool, and Prince of Persia is one of the best adventure games i have ever played. I am almost finished with it and will start on Prime which plays cool. I might sell XIII, it has cool art but im simply not a fan of fps. But after i finish prince of persia will give it another try.
anyway, my question is, is smash brothers a players choice game, i have had a rough time finding it.
that and i wanted some opinions regarding PN03 and auto modellista, i might buy them later.
as for the Nintendo games, aside from Prime i wont be buying any of them soon, until i get out of bootcamp sometime in November.
Smash Bros is a players choice game but I believe its MSRP is $29.99.
P.N.03 is a great game, but it is a love it/hate it kinda game. It is not a 3D platform type game, even though it looks like it. It is more of a 3D interpretation of a 2D shooter. Hard to explain, but I like it, once you get used to the control and get in a rhythm, it is really fun. But it is kinda short and easy, nevertheless, I played through it twice just to collect the different outfits (with different powers).
Auto Modellista sucks. I only played it on PS2, the game looks great, but the feel of the car is all wrong. It just doesn't feel right no matter how long you played the game (and I tried really hard to like it because the gfx is really awesome).

I've played quite a bit of shit for GC, and I dont like most of it. i tried to find games to make me feel like I got my monies worth but i gave up. I bought it mainly for MP1 and zelda. It wasnt really worth it except for zselda and re4.
I know im defying the secret cult of GC fans who know the list of really good games, but I dont give a shit anymore.
I'm a relative Cube n00b myself... the games I found awesome so far are RE4 of course, then SSBM, Sunshine, F-Zero GX and Mario Kart DD.
I don't like RPGs so I can't comment on Zelda or the other RPG-ish Cube games.
I'm thinking of buying Metroid Prime, but I will give it a test run before, if it's like MP2 I'll probably skip it. Played MP2 for a couple of hours and really tried to like it, but no luck.
Other than that, my GC wanted list includes P.N.03, Killer 7 and Chaos Field Expanded.
Ah well, given the current extra-low Cube prices, it would be shame not to pick one up.

I'm lazy, everyone I know has a cube, and no other machine, I thought I'd do the same :)
Gamecube is the only current gen system that gets played at my house. The PS2 only gets turned on for 3s or a DVD movie.
Gamecube + wavebird is a really awesome combo. There's enough good stuff out there to keep you busy.
Jungle Beat is more fun than anything that has ever come out for the PSII.
