haha if I cared about harry potter this might have bothered me but I think everyone is too anal about the secrecy of this story. It's just a children's book, people shouldn't take it so seriously.
I am scared.
PS: Harry Potter is teh suck.
People here care about Harry Potter?
fags....

That's like a major population of the world, you described there. Yep. That many adults read the thing. I find it decent, and yes I still consider John Williams (who made the original movie soundtrack) to be one of the greatest composers, in the world. But I find it hard to ignore something that seems to have gotten as big, these days, as Pacman or MJ's Billy Jean was in the 80s.
Well, I'll step up since I have read all of the books and I am looking forward to number 6. First, although this thread was in poor taste, it's not any secret that Dumbledore would be dying in either this or book seven, that's hardly a spoiler... However that it's at Snape's hands, although not surprising, is pretty much a hefty spoiler. So, for everyone that wants to direct your Harry Potter hate at a face, you can aim it at me, since I guess I'm the only one here who liked the books. And, don't worry VT, I never liked you anyway, so we're still fine.
I have a feeling in my bones that Malfoy's the half-blood.

So I have to wait for like three more movies until I see those two get down and dirty?

Well, you could say the same thing for the Star Wars movies, comic books, or a hundred other things, but as a principle, I disagree.Quote:

I kind of doubt anybody here reads those books, although there are a few posters here that could really gain a lot by reading anything, whether it be a kids' book, a comic book, or even a menu. By extension, we would all gain, so you shouldn't discourage these people.
What a motherfucker.
Hated this VT's guts before, not surprised at this stunt, but will make me hate him more.
Not wise to impose your own values, preferences on others, and not everyone who reads Potter is a bloody fanboy/girl you see screaming and dressing up and waiting in line.
I was gonna take my time to get and read the book, but this cocksucker....
Bleh, whatever, like I said, not surprised at this bitch move from VT.
Thanks for the hate, I'm glad I ruined it then.Quote:

For some reason I should be pissed, but I'm not. Harry Potter's kinda meh to me now..
You know the funny thing about all this is I've more than once typed out a laughable response to your commonly inane posts. I had a great one for the thread where you were praising your fraternity and told people to see your sig for an example of how you boys roll... LOL... but I lose interest and just close the window. Problem is now it's going to just sound like I'm mad about this thread if I flame you and I'm really not...Quote:

No, it was a dick move. I don't read HP, but I know plenty of adults that do. Considering the element of these boards, I wouldn't say Harry Potter is any more faggot than Mario Sunshine or half the anime people discuss here. I might poke fun at their tastes, but I don't go around ruining something they've been looking forward to.
I don't agree with Violent Ryo on many of his posts, but I think he's fairly spot on about your attitude on these boards.
did anyone see the Daily Show last night?
IT!
COULD!
HAPPEN!
HERE!!!
Yea I did, and it was a lot funnier than this thread.Quote:

I can recognize most of the names on the scanned page (I missed whatever the first post said), but I admit I had to look up Dumbledore. They all sound alike. Silly English. It's just as confusing as all the terrorist leader names which are a variation on Al-Ali-Moktar-Mohammed-Abdullah-Sushi-X. I know admire the actor who does Hagrid more, I didn't realize he was spot-on how the actual dialogue was written in the book.
Sucks Snape is a bad guy. I liked how he seemed like this unlikable guy who was also good. Meh, guess the children story plot-foreshadowing won out.
[EDIT: kind of cold thing to do. When I give movie reviews I never reveal plot unless the movie needs to be put out of its misery. I'd expect the same courtesy for books. I can imagine why some would be pissed. I yelled at a professor last semester for giving away the twist in Million Dollar Baby to people in class who hadn't seen it yet]
Great. My mom says it's all evil though.Quote:

no one here is cooler than anyone else, no one has a right to make fun of anyone for anything.
being into a book is more normal than paying $300 for videogames
grow up
IF you're into HP and you're over 14, you probably had your face buried into a tear stained Mickey Mouse pillow and three of your uncle's fingers jammed into your rectum at some point in your miserable existence.
have you ever even read it?Quote:

Anyway, shoot me for wanting to be reasonably considerate of other peoples' hobbies.
I've got an Irish priest friend that reads them.Quote:

Rowling increases her usage of profanity and violence, and if I were a parent, I wouldn't let my child read the fifth book until he or she was at least 13.
That said, I've read all the spoilers in this thread and I really don't care. Like everyone on both sides willingly admits to, the books are aimed at a younger audience. Big deal. They're fun and easy to read and its a good story. Whats the problem with that?
Wow. I never thought I would hear of something like that. I never really saw a problem as long as people know its fantasy.Quote:
