im picking the heat to go to the finals in the east.
in the west? Denver. They are 23-2 since the allstar break, both loses coming from the suns, ever since they got their new coach, they have been killing everyone, and I pick them to finish as a 6th seed and cream the sonics in the first round. They could also upset the spurs if they meet.
finals = Heat vs. Spurs or Nuggets.
Sonics have been playing really sloppy the last few games. That game last night against Dallas really showed off some of their weaknesses. They've lost six in a row. Their still trying to clinch the Pacific division with one more win. We'll probably get it done tomorrow night against, New Orleans.
If they do get eliminated in the first round, it was still nice to see them make it to the Playoffs overall. Unlike Kobe and the Lakers.
Anyway, I pick Phoenix or the Spurs on the West and Miami or Detroit on the East to all go at it in the Semi-Finals/Finals.

But you know who I feel sorry for? KG. Man, he needs to slideout of that hellhole.
I'm the big Suns fan here and what they did this year is nothing short than spectacular. I hope they go all the way to the Finals...
However...
Spurs/Heat but despite Shaq, Miami is can be beaten. Boston's been quietly playing some good ball lately...they're my Dark Horse of the playoffs ;)
Western finals: Phoenix over Denver.
Gotta go out on a limb for my hometown boys; like DK said, they're pretty much a buzzsaw at this point and won't even lose to the very tough Spurs if they somehow don't catch the Rockets for the sixth seed. Assuming they finish sixth they'll beat the Sonics in 4 in the first round and then they'll get the Mavs after the re-seed in the conference semis and win in 6. But I think the Suns are just too good and the one team that can outscore the Nugs, Suns in 7.
Eastern finals: Heat over Pistons. Indiana will make life hard for whoever they play after they upset the Bulls in the first round, but they'll fall to the Pistons in the conference semis.
Finals: Suns over Heat. Phoenix is deeper and can get scoring from more places on any given night. Miami has some great role players, but Phoenix's starting five is the best in the league, and Jim Jackson is a great sixth man. Suns in 7.

i hated the lakers last year, so i wanted detroit to play them, cause i knew the nets didnt have a chance in hell to win. i didn't actually think detroit would win against the lakers, but i wanted them too. the lakers just exposed themselves last year and you have to think it might have turned out different if they didn't have teh drama filled season they did, everyone basically was unhappy and they didn't play together in the finals. hell they were all unhappy all year and still made it to the finals.Quote:

the suns are overrated, i think most teams play them and fall in the trap of trying to run with them and outscore them, and unless the suns have an off nite you will never outscore them. san antonio seems to be the only team that has been able to shut them down, hell the spurs even won a 120+ point barn burner against the suns when manu had like 48 points, so they can run with them and play their style of ball too.
if denver upsets the spurs in the first round, the suns will have a VERY good chance to go to the finals. but i'm still predicting the nuggets will play the sonics, hell they could even get the 5th seed and play dallas since the kings are only 2 games ahead. 50 wins for the nuggets as well.

well nets are down by 10, and james has a triple double at the fucking half, doesnt look good.
ohhh shit, the nets were down by 10 most of the game, but they just blew the fucking roof off boston in the 3rd. outscored them 32-8 in the 3rd, carter has blown up, has 28 points. nets up by 13.
lebron james has 23, 13 and 13 at the end of the 3rd, blowing out toronto by 20, hell the raps would mail this one in just to fuck up NJ. but if the nets win it won't mean shit, james will have a triple double in the last game of the season and they still won't make the playoffs....
Looking at NBA TV right now...fuck man, LeBron is having a monster game. If Cleveland doesnt make any serious moves to get him some legit help, their front office is a fucking joke.

will be interesting to see the nets with RJ back, but they wouldn't have a chance against miami without a big man, Zo + Shaq is too much for anyone but detroit. I'd say Miami beats them in 5 games.
I hope the pacers lose tonight, sixers will play the celts and i think they will win, detroit would have mauled them, now the pacers get to be roadkill.

bulls won too, 4 fucking rookies in double figures for the bulls, they win without curry and deng, 2 of their top 3 scorers, Noc had 25/18, amazing. gordon has 30 in first playoff game.
rockets stun mavs in dallas, go up 2-0. the game last night was fucking great, T-Mac has turned into a monster, game winning shot and a fucking nasty dunk over Shawn Bradley. Yao had 33 and 8, if they both keep playing like this they are going to the finals, since the lakers got broke up, they have the best center/2 guard combo in the west.
i'm pulling for the nuggets and rockets out west.
the mavs keep getting these hard 4/5 first round matchups, last year they got bounced by sacto in the 1st round as a 5th seed.

Nuggets sure looked tough against the Spurs in game 1, even with Bruce Bowen pretty much shutting down 'Melo. Tony Parker pretty much can't do anything to stop Andre Miller if Miller gets hot, though, and if Camby stays healthy, him and K-Mart make life hell under the basket for Duncan. Ginobili seems like the x-factor, and thanfully the Nugget's two best perimeter defenders, Greg Buckner and DerMarr Johnson, did a nice job on him in game 1.
Interesting fact I read on SI.com today: Since Tim Duncan came into the league, he's only 4-11 against George Karl-coached teams. Maybe Karl has some tricks up his sleeve to stop the Big Fundamental.

watching nba tv right now, bulls having a great game, were down about 12 to the wizards, came back up by 7 at halftime. go bulls.
denver getting blown out is no surprise, they are a young team and figured they already got one, so they aren't as hyped tonight, the spurs are doubly hyped cause they got embarassed in game 1. they were down by 30 and the lead is around 18 now so they're trying to hang.
