ok, I rarely see any topics on him, so consider my one (and perhaps only) thread dedicated to him.

New Album

I haven't purchased a Tupac album since Remember me?

why?

because they keep taking all the original cuts and fucking them up with shitty remixes so they:
a) don't have to pay the original producers
b) because at least of the producers (that I know of) is suing Suge/Amaru and co. for due royalties

Many people have to understand that Tupac actually helped produce some of those songs and went on uncredited, yet now they continue to get raped by the likes of his mother, the record company, etc.

They're all just some money hungry bitches, milking his name for more record sales. If they really wanted to do the fans a service they'd compile all his songs in one box set, UNCUT, and untouched. Doing it like that would probably be less profitable, but it beats all this bullshit seeing a new album nearly every fucking year since he died.

Even if a douche bag like Eminem felt need to "remix" it, it sounds inferior to me (especially since I've heard most of them from mp3s of the bootleg originals).

Does anyone else find it annoying that Tupac has ascended to the cultural status of "Rap Jesus"?

He also had a hand in creating the violent atmosphere that eventually ended his life.

So yeah, millionares who can't seperate their present from their past and go around playing a game of "live by the sword, die by the sword" are just fucking idiots.

Get.Over.It.

I think he has a bunch of unfinished songs. They complete the songs with the latest artists and it will sell by name.

raping the name of 2pac

personally I think he has many sides to him

perhaps some of you hate him (scanberg), but to me I see him more as a political rapper (with some spiritual overtones thrown in). He had many personalities and he was playing more of a part. It's interpreted in may different ways, you might see him as endorsing the life style he rapped about, I see it as a comment on society and a troubled youth of lost souls (bastards of God) left in the dark, and neglected by the life in America

I've heard the album and it's sad that Eminem just took a bunch of unfinished 'Pac songs( the guy lived in the studio ), slapped on some quick beats, slowed down some of his vocals, and edited some of his words so it would seem he's yelling out "G-Unit".

Like 'Pac would even want to be around those clowns, that's why I can't listen to any of his albums past Makavali( sp?)

I thought "Remember me?" was the best released since his death (barring Makavelli)

all the tracks were original cuts and it took you back in time before "All eyez on me"

I also thought "Changes" was a good song (it's actually a re-cut track from "Remember Me?")

Other than that, I agree, it's been total shit since his death

Does anyone know if the 2Pac video DVDs are legit or just fanmade? I saw some at iwannabeontop.com and they also have Notorious B.I.G. and some other rappers on DVD, but I'm kinda having second thoughts. For sure a 2Pac video collection would be nice on DVD. :help:
