Which title are you most sick of hearing about?

For me,It would be Halo 2,Considering I have to hear it every day since it came out.All I hear in the hallways at school are "Omg did you play Halo 2 yet??!!" or "Omg it's the greatest game evarrrrr,multiplayer online,live support,guns,aliens,blah blah". San Andraes died fast,It wasn't much hyped in my school,I mean,people did carry the strategy guides around to look at in class,and I did hear a few occasional "OMG SHOOTING HOOKERS AND STEALING CARS! WORKIN OUT OMG GET YOUR HAIR CUT" It just gets really old after a while.So what about you,What are you most tired of hearing about?

gta sa is one of the best games IVE ever played. amazing immersion and has me going "wow" all the time even after 40+ hours clocked. just yesterday i drove up a local car park and found a helicopter, horseshoe and base jumping point on top of the building coz i was waiting till the right time for my gf to turn up and have a date.

halo 2 is a step backward from halo one in a lot of ways i find. it epitomizes "overhyped" imo.

Yarrr ... the Halo 2 hype has been irritating me for about a year and a half now. Unfortunately, the hype apparently pays large dividends.

yeah san andreas died FAST as far as talk/hype go, i know it's selling, but it's not even in the top 5 at EB anymore, halo 2 killed that hype, should sell strong thru xmas for ps2 tho, doesnt look like it's gonna outsell vice city though, the whole gangsta rap thing is less appealing than the 80's vice city had.

Man, Metroid Prime 2 should be on that list, just to piss off all 10 people that are jazzed about that game :).

Soon enough it will be Half-life 2 in a weeks time to hype about.

Both are decent games, but both fell short of my expectations. I don't buy into the "OMFG dis game will r0x0r Jesus's b0x0rs" kind of hype, so my bar wasn't set that high. Both just ended up being underwhelming. I'm hoping MGS3 ends up being a fun game. If not, this 4th quarter for gaming will be a disappointing one for me.

Halo 2. Seems like all of a sudden everyone I know at work has decided to get an Xbox (or dig it out of the cupboard) so they can play the flippin game. Its practically all I hear about.
And the worst thing is, none of them have actually bought a copy. Yup, thats right, all I hear is "can you do me a copy of Halo 2" and "which version do you have? the french one or the english one?" :rolleyes:

As for me, when Nov 11th finally came I decided to get Ratchet and Clank 3 instead. I dont doubt Halo 2's brilliance, but I'm just so sick of hearing about it that I'm going to wait untill all the hype has stopped so I can enjoy it in my own time.

Cant wait for Metroid Prime 2 though..............

I had my reservations about it, namely the controls only to discover it wasn't the damn controls at all... it's the damned PS2 controller's analog sticks that I wasn't used to. The Quake/Doom series have actually sold MORE than Halo.
In terms of gaming, besides Mario or Final Fantasy, the id classics are about as mainstream as it gets.

I just don't have enough hours in the day for both Street Fighter AC and Halo 2.
I end up playing H2 more simply because a lot of times I go on and there's no opponents on SFAC. Wes Paul can't be on all the time.

'Hardcore', as it applies to video gaming, has to be the most abused, misunderstood term EVER. I personally don't give a flying fuck what all of the aging, elitist PC users think of Halo. I'm sure somewhere in 1991 when SFII came out, there were some pissed-off Karate Champ fanbois who felt like this SFII thing was a big gay nuisance.
Who the fuck plays a fighting game with ONE joystick and six buttons? REAL FIGHTING GAMES USE TWO JOYSTICKS!

Halo 2 offers consistent, incredibly varied, lag-free gameplay that's deep as fuck with a ton of weapons, vehicles, and big fucking levels. There's a shitload of people to play, and that's where it's at. Hate all you like, the rest of us will continue to have a gawddamn blast with it.

i love real bout 2 possibly one of the most underappreciated fighters in the world.

I'm actually sick of hearing about which titles are too hyped. If hype keeps me from playing a game, or keeps me from liking it... it's a damn shame. Could miss out on some gems that way.

Halo2 is more than what I expected, because all I cared about was multiplayer... and the sequel is a lot better at that aspect. I didn't really play through Campaign mode, which doesn't bother me because I heard about the whole plot of the game second-hand already. Great multiplayer maps and the online function will probably keep me playing for another 2-3 years (until Halo 3 on XBox Next).

GTA:SA - I have that game, but haven't had a chance to pop it in the PS2 just yet. Still interested in playing the game, and hoping it wasn't as predictable or as boring as Vice City.

I don't remember the last game I played that seemed a bit too overhyped, but the biggest disappointment I've had on a game would have to be Super Mario Sunshine. That game had horrible camera issues, very inconsistent difficulty levels, a water pack that did nothing for me, and a plot that wasn't very interesting at all. The ending was horrible as well. Easily the worst Mario game for me... even lower than SMB2 US.

Um, Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto himself can't even accomplish that level of greatness again. That was a bolt of lightning from the heavens, my friend, never to be repeated by anyone.

As for myself personally, yes, I put Halo in that class. I never took to FPS games on PC. and no other game ever came as close to giving ALL of my friends that kind of consistent fun for nearly two years straight, a couple times a week. It is simply the best console FPS of all time. Most reviewers and fans agree. You hate it because you're an id fanbois, and loved PC FPS games first...that's great, but millions could give a fuck less. Incredibly rock solid control with a pad, awesome melee attacks, great, HUGE outdoor maps...vehicles that worked well (a first for the genre at the time), easy-ass LAN action with linked XBoxes...

I wouldn't trade the great times my friends and I had with this title for anything.
Halo 2 is right on track to provide more of the same. Some can't relate to the experience though, and just weigh it on its merits versus similar PC titles.
I can't speak for that, I only know how much fun Halo gave me. Had nothing to do with hype or whatever.

I still own more 2D titles than 3D. Does that make me cool enough to be here?
If not, oh well.

Trying to alienate yourself by being anti-anything mainstream is a tactic for angry teens who can't get laid. If I find a game fun to play, I play it. Could give a shit less what label gets pinned to it.

As for Tribes doing it before, yeah, I'm sure elements of Halo have been mostly found in other games preceding it...its the synthesis of these elements into a really fun, cohesive package that makes the difference, just as there were fighting games before SFII, and puzzle games before Tetris.
