Donkey Konga - Certainly not the game Taiko is. -The singer can't sing and the song selection is craptacular- but it's fun and different. And you've gotta love banging on a plastic drum around a bunch of total strangers.

So far, I have been playing Out Run 2 (Xbox), SF Anniversary (Xbox), KoF97, FFS and Breakers (Neo), and a bit of Soukyu Gurentai (PSX).

SF3rd of the Anniversary collection got the most playtime so far, my friends and I are enjoying every minute of it after we got used to the blurry graphics. Visually, the DC version is miles ahead of the Xbox/PS2 port, but gameplay speaks the final word, so I fear the DC port will collect some dust in the next couple of years...

that sucks, I heard it looked better than the DC version, I always thought that was grainy looking, although I never saw the original. ah well, you can't have the best of both. I wonder if dudley's stage still looks like a turd. :)

Guess it all depends on what connection you use. There's a display filter option which improves picture quality if you are running the game via s-vid/s-vhs, but it looks like ass with RGB so I always keep it turned off. Still, there are lots of weird things, for ex. the blue-ish raster effect around a chara at the start of a super looks awesome on DC, but it's almost invisible on Xbox.

Anyway, gameplay is cool... Parrying is a lot easier. Strangely, Dudley's stage and most of the other backs looks slightly sharper on Xbox... dunno if I'm seeing things here.

Ah, and the remixed music tracks of the DC version are gone, which sucks.

Hyper SF2 looks a lot crappier, it's blurry through and through, there's no filter option to turn off like in 3rd Strike. Again, the DC port of SSF2X looks razor sharp compared to it, and the intro simply is a shame, looks like it had been shot directly off the cab with a broken digicam.

...bit of a KoF2k1-looks-like-ass-but-plays-so-well deja vu there...


Edit: haha, and I've played Halo 2 for the first time tonight... what can I say...

CRAP!

No, seriously, it's not a bad game. Single player is kinda nice, bit low at first but it soon takes off, graphics are great and so is the awesome soundtrack and all those ambience f/x, but... multiplayer, wtf is that? Slow as fuck, feels more like floating or flying than walking. We've played it with four ppl for about an hour, then we got bored and switched off.

So much for Halo 2... :(
