Yeah, the graphics are great, but what has me pumped is that Namco is returning to the roots of the series after neglecting it for 4 years and making a game that's fun without obscure tuning options or riced-out Civics with Lambo doors and under-car neon. Besides, the Mountain track from Rave Racer course made the sut. HFCIT? If Rave Racer's City track makes the cut, along with all the other R4 tracks and perhaps even the Rage Racer, Ridge Racer Revolution and Ridge Racer V tracks, then I'm sold. I'll buy a PSP just for this game. :glee:

1: i will never play a video game outside of someones huose.
2: batteries are fucking expensive or too much of a hassle.
3: it would get stolen or break way too easy (i guarantee these psp are gonna be fragile and/or cheap little fucks).
and yes, the 3d on the ds looks like shit. outside of that i think its the better made system. prolly 100x more durable (like a turtle or some shit in its clam shell case) and it offers better versatility and longevity.
i wont be buying either unless i see one at under $100.

I just wanted to clarify for those who don't already know...
Ridge Racer DS is actually a port of Ridge Racer 64, which is not necessarily a bad game, but it doesn't hold a candle to the PSP version. It seems like the DS is getting a lot of N64 ports, which kind of disappointed me.
That said, fuck those screens look amazing. I was already sold on the PSP when I saw the first movies of Ridge Racer and GT4 running in real time. This just seals the deal. Hello import PSP. :p

First of all, props to Southtown Kid about going to play Pac Man and shut up. Nice. I don't think, with this season's games no less, that gaming now a days is "meh" All these great games? Man, that's crazy talk.
Secondly, Kim _Kaphwan, don't hijack the thread. If you want to fight, for whatever reason, we've got a whole room dedicated to that.
And the reason I came in here is because of what I have already seen on this and the PSP. It seems as if the lines are clearly drawn as to who's getting what. Not for me, as I don't find either one to be really special. I will say, however, that the PSP has a HUGE technology improvement over the DS. I just can't see why someone would play a portable N64 when they could play a portable PS2. Makes no sense to me. It's all about games, and I haven't seen a single one that makes me want to get a DS.
But as loopz has said a few times now, for god's sake, get a warranty on the PSP. I am afraid of sony products, having gone thru 3 PSXs and two PS2s. This game, may make me gamble yet again.....
So far, I'm leaing towards PSP. We'll see what I get, if anything at all.
