I'm mostly sure it's Eolith, just as the KOF series was given to them by the decision makers @ playmore wyhen they bought up all that was left of the SNK corporation in 2001.

But, I just want to make sure - any help here?

DO you know who the actual programmers and Art people were? Were they in fact the original Illistrators or the KOF series from 1994 to 2000?

or were they simply in house *Playmore* employees? Big difference from original SNK artists.

It would be like saying Cave fires Joker Jun, hires some other guy and since he works in house people say it's cave.... Far from it.

Any clarification on this?

Hi.

As you wrote KOF '94-2000, were mostly illustrated by SNKs then main artist, Shinkirou (now at Capcom). At the time of SNK's bankruptcy in 2001, certain SNK intellectual properties were licensed out to companies such as Eolith. Also, SNKs then main illustrators seemed to stop working for the company.

KOF 2001 was a joint programming project by SNK & Eolith as noted in the game's title screen & credits. KOF 2001's main illustrator was a newcomer Japanese artist known as Nona. This illustrator also did KOF 2002 & SVC Chaos.

In 2002, SNK couldn't legally use it's former name & was simply called Playmore. However, in 2003 Playmore became SNK Playmore & SNK NEO-GEO corporation.

Finally, Noise Factory, is a 3rd party developer for the Neo-Geo much like Data East or ADK was. A seperate business that I think is located in the same building as SNK Playmore in Osaka, Japan.

I hope that helps.

The illustrations/art for SNK vs Capcom were done by Falcoon, the same artist who did the King of Fighters 2003 illustrations.

I believe falcoon did the in-game art, and nona did the promotional. I doubt it was one exclusive artist.

Man, this takes me back. About a year ago, I think we decided that Falcoon did the in-game art and Nona did the character portraits (as appeared in promotional materials, mooks, etc.) for SVC.

I'm not a big fan of his art, but in the interview with him on the KOF 10th Anniversary site, he mentions Jubei Yamada as being his favorite character he wishes they'd bring back (or something to that effect), so he can't be all bad.

Has anyone else noticed lately that a few non news-or-rumor threads (like this one) have been moved out of News and Rumors? Wa-HOO, the mods return?

Yes, that is correct.

Is there any confirmation of SVC in-game art being done by Falcoon?

I seriously doubt it.

Yeah, in the credits. Trust me, a year ago I was the one doubting that it ws Falcoon who did the in-game stuff, and I got my face rubbed in it.

It was in-house, but done by a different development team. I'm assuming it was mostly new people with some guidance by the KOF devs. Eolith had nothing to do with it though, and neither did Noise.
