Why is there a sudden hike in NG stuffs??

Just a few years ago, NG games sold for a decent price especially when SNK declared bankrupty. I just checked ebay and there are dozen games that are listed at more than 1000 bucks. Who would pay that much for a game?? Is this for real?

I can buy a used car at that price. Crazy stuff. This must be a joke or something. So why has the price gone up so much?? Other old timer games haven't gone up so much. Genesis games actually sell cheaper now!

The usual guesses are the Neo Geo X increasing awareness of the system, the kids that used to drool over Neo Geo are now old enough to buy/fight over owning their "memories", the increase in CMVS options which has begun making the "economical" Neo Geo option less so as time goes on, etc.

Also, it's worth noting that a lot of these 4-digit prices (title depending) aren't selling... usually.

It was cheap when people were liquidating their collections to save their home mortgages. Now they're buying their collections back.
