Got my pre-ordered Game Drive for the Neo Geo Pocket Color.

It works very well, no complaints there. Just a few nitpicky things for those curious about it.

The bitbox case it comes in looks great, the insert is of very high quality. The bitbox itself does not fit the cartridge snug at all, and they put a foam piece to fill the space under it.

The stickers, manual and everything in the inside documentation sleeve are of high quality.

The cart itself feels odd...it must be 3d printed i'm guessing? It's a strange roughish texture and the sticker on mine is on crooked.

So overall it works great and does what it should, i'm not gonna lie that i'm slightly disappointed at the quality of the cart itself and that the case it comes in, is clearly not made for it originally.

I would have rather bought a loose cart with no label or anything for less money if i'd known.

I would upload picture of it in use, but the screen on my NGPC is on the way out so that isn't really an option.

Good purchase :)

And yes, the shell look like 3D printing.

That cartridge shell is SLS 3D printed. Laser cooks nylon powder to fuse pieces together, layer by layer. Shame about the crooked label, assembly side's probably in a hurry to fulfill demand for this.

I used to supply them with their NES cart shells for the Everdrive. When asked about making shells for this and other in-development projects, I told them I’d basically be burning thousands of dollars. I would assume they got the same answer from everyone and went down the 3D route.

Yeah. molds for plastic are not cheap. industrial 3d printing is reasonable for small scale projects.

I'm a fan of mine. Don't mind the 3D printed cart at all, and feels solid in my hands.

Still amazes me how they fit such good fighters on that small 2 button thing.
