I just picked it up and I thought I'd post some impressions. I never played the Doujin so I didn't know exactly what to expect going into it. And its good to see that a doujin game maker can make it into the mainstream systems.
After putting about an hour into it I can say it was worth the monies, On the cover it says its from the makers of Lumines and it shares a lot of similarities. Each stage has a different theme/look as well as the enimies contained in each one. Also just like lumines it has great music to accompany each level too. If you have ever played a Kenta Cho game (Torus Troopers, noiz2sa, rRootage) its shares kind of the same abstract visual art style and is very cool.
Gameplay is a mix of puzzle, strategy, and to a much lesser extent shooter. Basically what you do is navigate and detonate your own ship. You use the explosion that your ship creates to in turn blow up enemy ships using their explosion to cause chain reactions. The more ship that add to the chain reaction the higher the score you get. Simple yet difficult and some very cool boss battles.
So, is anyone else playing this?
