Hello dudes, I have a question about this board purchased on ebay. It was bought as US... But my problems started when the boot screen shows an Asian code ( 970620) and right below it says USA... I intend to install the pic to eliminate the suicidal battery, but I really don't know if this version is a USA or Asian?

Anyway... This is a bootleg, phoenixed or a frankstein...?

Looks like a U.S. Phoenix with the same code number as the Asia version. They can have the same code number across regions.

If so, what .hex file would I use in the modchip for this board? The code in question is Asian, so it would be the file for that region, am I correct?

You don't need to do anything. The board has no battery installed and it working fine with the phoenix roms.

no dude, this board came without battery. With pic installed, but apparently, with wrong region .hex flash in pic. wont boot propely, freezes in the version screen, like in second image in the first post

I would dump the 8 eproms on the lower left and find them in mame, that will tell you which hex to use. Also if the key data was wrong on the pic you should just be getting a solid color screen and nothing else. So you might have a corrupt eprom or some fault with the board causing the crash.
