Need some info on this CHA board.
A quick lookup brings me to this page on the neogeodev wiki.

Long story short, the CHA42G and -1 version handle 2MB / 16Mbit C ROMs differently from other CHA boards, by way of rewiring a few signals to the NEO-273. 16Mbit C ROMs have to be specifically assembled for the CHA42G. 8Mbit ROMs are unaffected. The CHA42G and -1 also only support a maximum of 4 C ROM sockets.
However, CHA42G-3 supports more C ROM sockets, 8 in total.

I've heard someone (maybe Xian Xi) describe the CHA42G-3 (and probably -4) as the 128 version of the CHA256. That is to say, the CHA42G-3 supports nearly the same features as the CHA256, but only with a max capacity of 16Mbit per C ROM.
What I'm trying to confirm is, does the CHA42G-3 still depend on that non-standard NEO-273 wiring? Or can you drop standard 16Mbit C ROM chips onto this board? Anyone use the CHA42G-3 (or 4, or maybe 2) before?
No, there is no neogeodev wiki page for the later revision CHA42G boards.
