Battle Circuit - weird and random and I love it

I don’t know how I didn’t enjoy / get into this game back in Arcade’s in the 90’s/2000’s. I saw it, I just never gave it much thought and after a few credits went and played something else.

Now though...holy shit this is weird and colorful and strange and I am wholly into it. I particularly enjoy how some stages act more like mini-shmups more than beat em up stages, and the slow trickle of power upgrades that constantly evolve the fighting style.

Man how did I miss how good this game was back in the day

Well, Battle Circuit didn't come out in America, so that kept a lot of us from playing it back in the day.

Awesome game, though. The finale is a little rushed compared to the rest of the levels, but it's a great brawler. Too bad it came along during the fighting game craze and no one wanted belt-scrollers.
