A little back story here...
I'm an auditory person. At one time, I was borderline obsessed with audio and sound. My eye sight is for shit and my nose is jacked...but I can hear things like a damn house cat.
As a matter of fact, I'm so sensitive to sound that I sleep in earplugs.
Sitting in a dark room, listening to good sound equipment was actually a big hobby of mine years ago. I found it to be calming. (Long story short, I sold off my stuff years ago.)
Yesterday, I stumbled on an article on ASMR, if you do not know what that means, here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_sensory_meridian_response
So I write it off to yet another mumbo-jumbo line of bullshit, but it did interest me.
So...last night before bed, I popped on my ear goggles (of decent quality, nothing crazy) and found this video:
To listen to it straight up...it sounds boring/dumb. To watch it is also boring.
But to turn off the lights in a silent room, crank the volume on your headphones (this is an important part...volume must be high as it is so soft/detailed), close your eyes and just lay there listening to it...my jumping jesus...
Wow...it's hard to explain but it landed up putting m in this half in-half out sleep/trance thing. The sounds are highly calming to me...but keep me awake at the same time.
I may or may not tire of this...but it was actually pretty amazing.
