I remember Cool Craig made some great mini-marquee repros a few years back, on something like photo paper, that were similar to the originals but slightly thicker and with more vibrant colors.

Does anyone still make anything like this?

Maybe a stupid question, but what type of printer would you need to print color on plastic to do a professional job reproducing these?

Not sure, but it was professional equipment, at a dedicated print shop I believe. Not something one would buy for the sole purpose to repro mini marquees, even if they had hundreds of orders lined up

I've had a print shop print up a bunch of mini marquees for me. They used 12mm backlit film. When I first got them they were rolled and it took a while for them to flatten out but that didn't matter much when they were placed in a Neo Geo. It held them flat.
They look really good. But they don't look like originals. The ones I made I used high res artwork that I could find on the Internet and I pasted the title of the game on each one. Some look similar to originals but none have 'how to play' instructions on them.

Here's are a few of them:

I agree those are really nice choices if you're just going to go for something random as the art is great.

The arcade marquee guy I've always been curious about. Pictures are one thing, in hand and in a cabinet is another. He tries to make them 1:1 but how close are they really? I like the fact he doesn't do the childish fuckery that Nintendo snobs tend to get panty twisted over with simple lame stickers bitching they're not clearly poor looking or having reproduction written through the art so they feel like their financial bubble investment doesn't pop sooner than later.

some US guy should buy a few... USD 10 isn't too heavy, and "Satisfaction guaranteed, returns accepted" ;)

that's the ebay account of the aforementioned arcademarquee.com ;)

I was actually gonna ask that! Thanks for answering preemptively ;)

Funny how his eBay pricing is slightly lower than website pricing if you figure in shipping, yet he has to pay ebay fees on those....

Anyhow, thanks for that source! They're double what Craig was charging, but I really only want a couple so that'll probably be well worth it!

I've got some from arcademarquees.com- They aren't perfect recreations, but once they are in the cab and the backlight is on- you really can't tell a difference.

Do you have some really high quality close ups of those or can you make one of a couple? I think most here are probably curious about the print quality and clarity. They do look nice in the cabinet though. I've been considering the $15 purchase for the 161in1 and the secondary one with the micro sized print of the whole game list.

I think most people want repros that look identical to originals with the 'how to' play details. And I haven't been able to find high res artwork and titles for most games.
Instead of selling, I'd prefer a community effort to collect Neo artwork and titles for each game that is good enough to print well. I'm actually surprised that mini marquees aren't hosted on southtown-homebrew.com. That would be a good thing to shoot for.

Once the Mini Marquee is created it's easy enough for anyone to email them to a local print shop (that does backlit film) and have them printed.

Anyone have high resolution artwork for Last Resort and SpinMaster?
