Single board competition!

Play on whatever machine you like, but the Megadrive/Genesis version only, default difficulty (=Easy), 60Hz, BIOS set to "Japan" unless you can't do otherwise (enemies are reported to be slightly more shooty, I know it was the case on some of their other titles like Daisenpu).

Fire away!

Great, now I keep resetting the game if I don't make it through the first 7 stages without dying. The key to scoring in this game is to hoard your bombs. If you max out at 10 bombs the bonus gets ridiculous. Great for scoring, bad for just playing through. Plus you get neutered so bad once you die. I usually end up losing 5 or so ships on the same stretch of the game because you're too slow and/or underpowered. I'm gonna keep trying.

Never bombing unless you’re recovering from a death is definitely the way to score. I was able to No Miss until the stealth green planes that come up from the bottom of the screen in Stage 7 got me.

Good to see the mom-banging going, now we need a tenth entrant - you know, to be 10.

Been pressing the "reset" button with no result.
I had forgotten the game was actually that long :O

Not a shmup veteran, so I never played this before. Got the first couple of rounds in today, my favorite weapon was the red fire beam.
However, after consulting the shmup wiki it seems the spreadshot is the way to go.

From what I read the main rules for achieving a good score are: collect the lightning icons, keep the bombs - don't die.
The shmup wiki mentions one should use a 30ms autofire pad - I don't have that. What I did find however was an option to turn on auto-fire in the settings, as the rules don't mention anything regarding autofire I did activate that.

For anyone interested, I found this page pretty insightful: https://shmups.wiki/library/Same!_Same!_Same!
