SNK and ARIKA announce collaboration to revamp non-fighting game IP

SNK will collaborate with ARIKA to revamp non-fighting game SNK-owned intellectual property, the company announced.

SNK owns over 200 SNK-branded game contents, including NEOGEO, and is currently promoting the restoration and revitalization of past intellectual property. As part of these efforts, it has decided to collaborate with ARIKA, which has excellent game development capabilities and a strong understanding of SNK intellectual property.

This collaboration with ARIKA is planned for non-fighting game intellectual property. Details will be announced at a later date, so look forward to more information in the future.

In an interview a while back they mentioned wanting to do more with their IP than just fighting games, so nice to see a partnership with Arika. I like to see these characters and worlds being kept alive for sure - so long as they are treated with care and not shoehorned into more mobile game garbage.

Arika, Dimps, even CyberConnect I think could do some interesting things with SNK IP. Maybe even throw the Blazing Star / Pulstar rights to M2 (ShotTriggers) for a full revival game?

I just hope for something really special to happen with the Last Blade IP - fighting game or not.

Safe to say it's not going to be an obscure IP, or at least obscure for SNK fans anyways. I don't think it will be a Metal Slug game as that IP is still considered active.

That said, I really, really, really hope it's not some mobile gacha BS.
