+1 for Aesop Rock and Blackalicious.

I've been scoping some experimental hip-hop in the last couple years. Very different, but I think worth checking out for a change.

I think the actual music on this concert starts around 4 minutes. Their drummer couldn't make it so they skyped him in...

Not so "Crazy", but I also really enjoy Psyche Origami

Yeah, because not once in human history has music ever conveyed as much emotion and truth as literature or visual art.

You stupid fuck.

at what point did i mention emotion. Music does that just fine.

Brother Ali

Grouch & Eligh (nice non-aggressive message)

I am a huge Living Legends fan and everyone in that crew (Aesop, Murs, Grouch, Eligh, Scarub)

Wanted to include some others I like that actually have something to say like Zion I, Pigeon John, Atmosphere, Blueprint, P.O.S.

A lot of the artist on Rhymesayers Entertainment label have a lot to say and are pretty good at doing so.

Atmosphere
POS
Doomtree
Grieves

Other Mike Larson groups to check out if you didn't come across them searching for Eydea and Abilities are
Face Candy
Carbon Carousel
Oliver Hart

Can't go wrong with Sage Francis, Aesop Rock (The Uncluded with Kimya Dawson is also really good), Mr. Lif, Murs, Mos Def.

I guess it really depends on what your looking to hear from the MC.

Killer Mike
Domo Genius
Evidence (Dilated Peoples)
MF Doom's latest album keys to the Kuffs as JJ doom is pretty fucking dope, but I think all Doom records are more about the producer and his music more so than Doom Lyrics.

Tons of good stuff out there if you're willing to weed through a larger majority of crap from the major labels.

BTW Boston peeps Blackalicious is playing Church on 12/13.

since everyone is mentioning Killer Mike I figure you might want to check out his collab with El-P (another amazing rapper) called Run The Jewels

somehow I forgot Saul Williams.

Does more poetry than "rap", but his words are amazing

As you are asking for true hip hop and nobody is sharing good shit I just decided to upload a track for your ears

This album by The Primeridian is far away, 15 years old, but I think maybe you never hear about it

Just relax, listen and.... enjoy it!

Have Amazon prime? Lots of free albums streaming now on Amazon Music.

Some of the best releases by Masta Ace (including his latest-'The Falling Season') are up now.

A tribe called quest dropped their latest and its phenomenal. As is J Cole's album 4 your eyez only, If you listen to it as a story it all comes together much better than standard club and gangsta hip hop for. G-Easy has his latest out from a minute, CST recall the name off the top of my head but some of those tracks are definitely coming from a deeper level

Getting old, but in case you missed them. More political oriented Hip Hop.

Kid Panda,
Liquid Swords is amazing, but I'll take Raekwon's Only built for the Cuban Linx.

Actually it's a toss up, but I think both kick ass!

I also am a big fan of the OG Outkast shit!

Even Big Boi's newer stuFF is awesome.

THIS chick actually has something to say- but whatever it is it's in Spanish and I can't (and don't want to!) understand it. It isn't my ears that care anyway.

Just listen to some 2pac and Notorious B.I.G., if you're looking for some new music I suggest Compton by Dr. Dre.

Funny 25 years later this album still relates.
