I just did the switch, and my god it's so much better than IE. IE I had about a billion pop ups. With Firefox, it's faster, and I don't get some of that annoying crap I did with IE (again, pop ups).

I'm super pleased with this. Anyone using it? It's great!

Welcome to 12 months ago!

I've been a Fire Fox convert for quite some time, maybe not a year, but after many problems with IE, I finally made the switch. I even go so far as to download nightly builds almost daily, just to see what I can fuck up next.

Now, c'mon guys... when a non-geek finally pulls his head out of Microsoft's ass we should be supportive!

"non-geek" is such a relative term. If you're on this site or participate in any internet forum on a daily basis you're a geek in one way or another.

The other way to look at it is it's not the 1970's or 80's where being into technology and being a "geek" was looked down upon. Everyone in society seems to be a "gadget freak" on some level from mp3 players to Digital camera's it's just a part of the new mainstream.

I switched from IE recently, no looking back. Its a far better browser imho.
Also switched to Thunderbird email.
I have nothing but praise, and its nice to deal open source.

Firefox is still my browser of choice, simply because I believe it's a better browser at it's core. However, with the recent addition of service pack 2, internet explorer seems to do a much better job of blocking popups. I'm still pretty damned sure that IE is a much less secure browser.

The nice ting about firefox is that you can add tabs on the toolbar for different sites, unlike IE which opens a new window for each url.

I use it for the tabs and the multiple homepages. Popups have never been much of a problem for me anyway.
