All I can say is; fucking awesome. If you enjoyed this movie at all, go out and buy this edition right now.

Unfortunately for Stephen, his fate is the same in every cut.

oh I thought you were talking about the remake, which I think comes out in october.

This movie might be worth the pick up though.

If anyone doesn't know, the UE has the standard theatrical cut, an extended version, the European cut (Argento's) and a disc with a couple documentaries and some other cool stuff. It also includes a mini comic book.

Sweet! This DVD release definitely looks to be worth it. I have yet to buy a Dawn DVD because it seems like they always come out with newer versions. As long as they don't release the "Ultimate Final Limited Edtion Gold Collectors Set" I'll be happy ;)

Great review, with comparison screenshots of the different versions, shots of the packaging and whatnot.

I can't beleive how much work has gone into this DVD set. One movie, four discs. That is absolutely unheard of. Thumbs up to Anchor Bay for all their efforts with this release. This is the new pinacle of special editions.

I couldn't see picking this up unless it's uber-cheap. It don't find it that great of a movie (compared to almost everyone). Is it just because it's a classic? :annoyed:

It's not cheap, it's about $50. But it's 4 discs with hours of extras. If you're not a fan, get the cheaper edition (everyone should have some version of the film), but if you are a fan...you need this one. 3 cuts of the movie...

Just saw: $29.99 at deepdiscountdvd.com This place is good and offers free shipping... I've gotten a number of things from them.

Fixed. ;)

Also, it might be worth noting that the first disc, the theatrical cut, is the exact same DVD as the one released back in March. Not that it really matters, but they obviously released that one back then to capitalize on the remake's release. And it worked on me.

Most of those are worth watching at least once if you are a zombie fan, but what seperates DOTD from the those is it's excellent character development and intelligent social commentary. Most Italian zombie films (maybe all of them) have extremely cliched characters and storylines. The gore effects in them are downright nasty sometimes though.
