:oh_no: :oh_no:

What the hell happens to Sega these days?
They keep releasing Sonic, Monkeyball, Phantasy Star and other shit over and over on all platforms but rarely see anything special lately? (Outrun 2 is an exception).

PS2 Astro Boy is a good try from Sonic Team but game control is horrible along with not-so-impressive 3D technology. Only interesting title I've played so far from Sega is GBA Astro Boy, of course it's WOW/Treasure co-worked effort.

Seems like WOW is doing a great job so far for Sega. (AM2 & Sonic Team need to redeem themselves).

I miss Sega in the good old days in 16/32 bits world.............

I want a "Skies Of Arcadia" sequel and a "SHENMUE 3", not online :(

Oh yeah a "NEW STREETS OF RAGE" would be great. At least they are making a new "Altered Beast"

Don't forget Virtua Fighter 4 Evo.... That's an awesome game and at $20, it was my personal game of the year in 2003.

I'd like those too

but you guys gotta realize Sega is in the shit now, is struggling very hard to not going completely bankrupt
they made lot of tactical mistakes in the past and now they're paying the consequences
hence they cant do nothing atm but producing lowbudget shit addressed to the mass-market

SEGA is no longer really about being "Service Games", because they sold out to SAMMY and 80% of what they do churn out is crap now. Face it people the SEGA we all love gave itself a lobotomy and decided to hook it on the streets of bangkok and got the digital version of AIDS. There are a few splinter factions that are okay but they won't last.

Agree.

Right now it seems like Sonic Team is the "only" team working on the game.

How many more Sonic games do we need?
How many versions of Phantasy Star Online are we going to get?
We'll see Monkeyball on Xbox as well............

Personally I prefer WOW & AM2 better but too bad we don't see their works very often.

Actually Capcom & Namco are doing the same thing. I miss the "real" Ghouls'n Ghosts sequel and Splatterhouse series.........:(

Virtua Fighter 4 Evo was the last game I bought from Sega.
Sega runs out of creativity after they abandoned DC couple years ago.

Sammy is the shit. :shame:

I have to agree with Merc for the most part. However, as previously posted they're a bit in the doghouse right now. They're NFL2k series isn't doing well, Sammy is probably got them on some sort of probation money wise, and they've been busy working on Outrun 2 and VF4:Final Tuned. Plus they've probably got all their resources working on the future flop that will be the Matrix Online and Shenmue online. I think for the most part they're trying to be as careful as possible while trying to stay afloat (ANOTHER PSOep1 and 2, more sonic games) Just gotta wait and watch. In the meantime you've got plenty of gaming goodness to play while you wait...(outrun 2, VF4:FT,)

It's a case of 60% self parody, 35% copy cat & 5% proper SEGA releases.

My largest gripe has been the SEGA Ages releases, while some may well be ok, for the most part they seem modern trash releases, butchering them.

Why not just release compliations of these amazing games in their true amazing form instead of PSOning them up :emb:

Sega out-source Outrun 2 to 3rd party to do Xbox version so they're not actually "working" on it.

Sega who? Didn't they put out that game system back in the 80's? It was black with a circle thingy on it?

They were cool. :loco:

Egggggzactly. Sega is over and done with, I'm very sad to say. I'll be shocked (in a good way) if they can ever come up with a title that will remind me of the old magic.

My sega dream was always a Shinobi game that played like SOTN
with tons action/exploration in a gigantic feudal japanese fortress
with upgradeable move/weapon systems and tons of ninpo magic.
That dream was stamped out by the mediocre 3D shinobi PS2 release.
As was every remake or next gen version of a classic sega has released since the Sonic Adventure series. The only exception has been PD Orta.

Having played the Xbox version of Outrun2 tonight, it has Sega MAGIC stamped all over it. Everythign about it reminded me of a heyday dreamcast game, though stamped with unbelivable graphics and smooth as butter frame rate. O2 is the mutts nutts and the most definitive Sega release in a long time.

Headhunter Redemption came out a few weeks back in europe and it's a slick 3rd person shooter. Worth buying for the Richard Jaques score, which is bloody brilliant.

The PS2 SHinobi (while not the old one) is awesome. It plays great.

Anyway, Capcom is more dead to me then Sega. At least Sega still has a couple of gems while Capcom has...well....none really. It sad to see that the folks that made Final Fight suck so hard now.

Capcom has RE4 and Viewtiful Joe 2 coming out, so they don't quite suck yet.

AM2 won't disclose "IF" they are working on Shenmue 3, but I promise it's coming even if it's on the next gen systems. I would personally like to see a Dreamcast release of the next Shenmue since that's where it belongs(not on the dirty black box).

Btw I shat myself when I saw this at e3, not sure if it's totally linear but my guess is that this is leading up to a new sonic adventure and maybe even chao racing:
