I have just stumbled apon a hidden feature in Samurai Shodown 5 Special and its a rather cool hidden feature at that. At this point I am not sure if this is something the programmers added for fun or if it is unlockable via a code.

Look and the screenshots and guess?

Heh, Revenge!!!

*UPDATE*

lithy guessed the correct address so if you want to play with this feature in Samurai Shodown 5 Special then go into the in game menu and then into the patch memory option. Then write 0x04 to address 0x10E003 and highlight the 'patch' text at the end. If in arcade mode you will need to enter the patch after inserting a coin. Remember you will need a unibios v2.0 to do this as on further inspection there is no other way in game to activate this mode.

Ohh and for those intrested a small bonus, write 0x20 to address 0x10E002 and you can choose the character you fight against before the round begins.

Ohh and before I forget here is another one :) write 0x80 to address 0x10E003 and all power bars are removed from the screen (write 0x84 to 0x10E003 for shrinkage and no powerbars).

Raz, that's great... but you are teasing the feck out of me... How do we do this, with your Illustrious V2.0 UniBIOS settings? Anything we can repeat ourselves?

Yes it is, the smaller you are the closer you have to be for a hit to register.

Is this something we can do manually with patch memory?

Yes you can get this on real hardware by using a unibios v2.0

Ok Ok, I'll tell you what, I'll give some clues....

First off the memory address value is between 0x100000 and 0x120000. The value to be written is 0x04 and it's not possible to unlock this feature using a debug bios.

Now we can play a higher lower game, whos gonna guess first?

SSVS only or can SSV do it too?

It seems to be in SSVS only, no one gonna start guessing memory addresses then?

Do I get a prize if I get it right? I don't really get it but I'll go with 0x80000

Your well out as the address will be between 0x100000 and 0x120000, in your guess case the answer is higher.

Right, I see. How about 0x114000?
