Hey,

I just got my first cab today!!! I have a couple of issues. When I play the only cps2 game I have (xvssf) the backround has lines running in it. The characters all look normal, the sound plays normal, but I have these annoying lines.

When I pop my 2 slot into the jamma harness, I get realy shitty sound and it is noticibly darker than the cps2 system. Also, how do I get the fourth button for my 2 slot to work on my cab? My cps2 buttons all work like they should but the 4th button does not for mvs.

Thnxs

ok,

Nort, what wire running to the kick harness of my cps2 is the fourth button? Can you do a diagram like this:

XXXXXXXXXX0
XXXXXXXXXXX

With o being the correct wire. please do it as if I was looking at the cps2 a board right side up.

What is the proper wiring I need to correct the sound?? Thanks

No, Cyberbots is the only CPS2 4-button game that has the 4th button on the auxiliary connector. It's the D&Ds that are the same as MVS.

maybe it's on both the aux and on pin 25.... I threw my cyberbots board into my neoSG and i was supprised that the D button on my AES stick was pressing the fourth button.... Confirmed it in test menu.

Nah, for MVS, you'd run a wire from pin 25 on the Jamma connect to the fourth button (D).

Existing jamma speaker wiring is like this.

L..........-speaker+...........10

MVS speaker wiring is like this.

L.....+left spkr-.....GROUND.....-right spkr+.....10

take a look at all the pins, and make sure none are bent. when putting the game in, make sure everything is lined up perfectly, and don't be afraid to push down kinda hard on each of the 4 connections.

In order to undertand the subtle differences between jamma and mvs Im afraid another link is required. Already posted earlier in this thread.
http://www.hardmvs.com/manuals/Jamma2NeoGeo4SlotPinout.pdf

Print this out and file for reference, you will not require any other links, and it is very straight forward to understand.

Step by step description:
With jamma the mono speaker is connected in between pins L and 10 on the jamma edge connect. Neither side of the speaker is grounded. Thats simple.

With mvs because we now have stereo sound, the two speakers require wiring quit differently to jamma.

Left speaker connects between edge connect pin L to ground.

Right speaker connects between edge connect pin 10 and ground.

Both speakers negatives are grounded.
Any common ground point is suitable for this.

Just think about what Ive just explained and have another look at the diag below.

pin L.....+left speaker-.....GROUND/GROUND.....-right spkeaker+.....pin 10

Its realy simple, I honestly dont know how to expain in any simpler terms.

Im looking at the jamma harness right now. I see the L and 10 spots. But i dont understand how i get this to correct my sound.

What i want explained is what do i have to to? do i cut the wires at pos L and 10?? If so what do i do with them? That what i want explained, step by step instructtions of how to wire this thing so the sound is corrected. Say it like your telling a 4 year old. Cus thats about as experienced as i am on this stuff. Example: Take the blue wire and splice it into here, then take this ground wire and put it here.

ALso before i do any of this, will this effect my cps2 stuff in any way. Will i have to reverse this if i want the cps2 sound to play normaly?

You should just be glad there are people here willing to help you out. Todddy and the other GREAT members here are just trying to help, im glad he is more patient then I as i don't think you deserve help after a post like that. I suppose he is a better man then I. Anyway i dont mean to drag this into any kind of flame war so i'm stopping now.

Just follow what ttooddddyy said in his last post and you should be ready to go.

And I appreciate all the help, i do. I have never worked with stuff b4, i dont know what im looking at and I dont know what a diagram means. I just want some one to guide me step by step...baby steps, cus i dont wanna fuck this cab up.

Sorry if I have not said so yet, but Thank you techs for trying to help me. I just need some more input as to how to do this

leave the existing wire from the L pin of the jamma edge connector to the existing
speaker as it is, cut the wire off the other side of the speaker, then connect a new wire from this terminal of the speaker to ground.
This is now your left channel.

Fit another speaker in the cab, connect the wire you cut off the original speaker to it and the other side (+) of the new speaker to ground.
This is now your right channel.

Your done.
Its easy to reverse.

You could fit a switch to go from jamma to mvs but at this rate it will take at least untill Christmas

Note: the stereo speakers will both be outta phase +/- but that doesnt matter, it only matters if one is out of phase. this is the easiest way to get it over to you.

I dont think we are taking about the same set up,
I already have two speakers in this cab. They both work perfectly when I have cps2 stuff on it. Stereo sound. When I put the 2 slot in it, its sounds all glitched out and it sounds like some of the sound isnt coming through. Please read your pm. The name on my cab says its a Dynamo Video Game System.

On the L side there are 2 wires in that hole, on the 10 side is one.

So my sound will sound messed up for cps2 if i do this? What kinda switch needs to be installed?? Is there ne1 from chicago that could help me out???
