Now that I HAVE A COMPUTER AGAIN AFTER 4 MONTHS I guess I should address this.

Ahem.

In June 2004, dojosky paid me I think 16$ for the European version of Gokujyo Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack (known simply as Parodius in Europe). I sent the game that following weekend.

Waited... waited... waited... dojosky sent me an PM saying he hadn't got it... waited... waited... it winds back with me. I ship it off again. Basically, the same thing happens, only this time I get the game right as I'm heading out of town to attend my great-uncle's funeral (really only went for my grandmother, didn't really know the guy that well but you know, family).

Upon returning my computer died, and has been dead up until today (just now recieved it back from Dell, they really do have good customer support, too bad no Americans though, *sigh*. You just can't tell an Indian "Dude, my computer is fried, you guys need to fix it, me plugging it in and messing with the battery isn't going to help")

Anyways, I digress. Upon returning home I sent the game ONCE AGAIN (now I'm 16$-(4x3=)12$ = 4$ for this game after shipping).

The game gets returned, once again.

Now, here's the fun part:
I only have auto login for this site on my home computer and on my laptop. My "home" is 7 hours away. I don't know my password and I believe the email address I used to register here is my Angelfire address, which, as anyone who has an angelfire account knows, those are long gone. My password is like, 10 random letters/numbers, so I'm just not going to magically remember it.

Therefore, I cannot login to check PMs unless I'm at my home 7 HOURS AWAY.

But one day I am home and I check in on this site, and see that dojosky has left me about 5 or so PMs. I PM him back, tell him the game got returned, ask him if he would like for me to try to ship it again or if he would like his 16$ for a 30-40$ game refunded, and he says "Send it again". So I do, I send it again. And in my reply PM I tell dojosky my situation with my computer and that he needs to EMAIL ME if he has any more problems because I just can't check my PMs for the moment.

So, about 3 or 4 weeks ago the game came back to me yet, again. (mind you, each time the game leaves and comes back it takes around 3 weeks). This time, I just mail it again. Two weeks pass and dojosky winds up on the shmups.com forums (instead of emailing me or PMing me there) complaining. I respond and explain what happened, and state that if the game gets returned again I'm just going to refund him because his shipping costs have already knocked out the money I made off the deal ("made", since I sold it to him for 16$).

And thats where we are at now. I do not know if he has the game yet, all I know is that it hasn't shown back up at my doorstep, thus, I have my fingers crossed. If he gets it, great, if not, shit, because I'll wind up losing 16$ out of my pocket on this transaction.

And now for my complaints about this whole "deal", even though I can see where dojosky would be coming from.
1. I've sold dojosky 1 or 2 games in the past and those deals went off without a hitch. In fact, if I recall correctly these were much "bigger" purchases for him. So where he got the idea that I magically turned scammer all of a sudden is beyond me. To his credit, he hasn't gotten his game in a long ass time, but I did tell him WHY he hadn't gotten his game in a long ass time.

2. He never emailed me. Ever. I specifically told him via PM that if he has anymore troubles to EMAIL me since I couldn't check my PMs at the time. What did he do? Showed up on another board I post at and started calling me a scammer. Yes, he has a right to be worried because, as I've said, it has been a looooooong time (and 16$ or so in shipping for me), but even after I clearly stated that he should try emailing me if there were further problems he just started going around to different boards calling me a scammer.

Anyways, I hope this is resolved soon since I even went out of my way to a different post office to send the game this past time. And if it gets returned again, I'll just refund him.

No offense to you,Jp,but this doesn't sound right.

The fact that you sent the game out more than once and having it successfully returned to you each and everytime just doesn't quite add up...

I mean, what could've gone wrong? Did you forget to pay for postage? Did you forget to write down his mailing address on box/appropriate label? Did you provide an incorrect mailing address? Surely,we all make mistakes at some point in time, but to have the very same package returned to you for more than a couple of times is just plain silly.

Unfortunately I have heard of this exact same thing happening in the past. It generally happens in the customs office. A package is shipped internationally and when it arrives at the customs office.. they will return it with no questions asked..after holding onto it for a couple of weeks. The customs office is a bizarre place.. and they rarely offer any explanation when this kind of thing happens. :oh_no:

Its not overseas though, its from Alabama to California.

As far as I can tell the address IS right. The second time it got returned I checked with dojosky to confirm the address. And I wrote down the EXACT address he gave me. Postage wise each time I paid for Priority, and I paid at the counter where they ship it so its not like I paid the wrong amount.

And I agree. It is silly. And its pissing me off quite frankly.

The only thing I can think of is that somehow he's not getting a notice to pick it up or he's not home when they deliver it or something. I really do not know. Its not a large package so I would assume they would leave it at his door if he owns a house or with the main office if he lives in some kind of complex. But I've had stuff get sent back after I neglected to pick it up (mostly because I didn't realize I had recieved it), but this was like, after a month. And his game seems to come back in a 3 weekish period each time.

Phil,

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if this was, indeed,an international shipping matter, but domestic?

Chai, you're correct. As far as domestic reasons.. it's more likely a lazy mail carrier. In my office some of my co-workers do not deliver packages in apartment/condo-complexes/Tract homes..etc. They'll just bring the package back and say they "ATTEMPTED" delivery. Thats why I always pay extra for Delivery Confirmation. This way the mail carrier HAS to, at the very least, scan the package attempted. That way if you are awaiting a package you can check for yourself. There have been many times that my packages were sent back because my mail carrier didnt like walking upstairs. I would look at the usps website and see my package had been attempted.... but when I went to my mailbox.... there was no Pink Notification Slip.

Chai, I am not trying to say dojosky or jp. are misleading us.... but this happens more often than people realize. That"s why I have a P.O. Box in the office I work in. Everyone knows me there so they just bring my package to me. There are ALOT of lazy carriers in my office alone. Anyway, I hope this gets worked out.

All points taken,Phil, thanks for the clarification.

I am not,in anyway, doubting either Jp nor Dojosky. If I did come off that way,my apologies to the both of you.

Best of luck to both parties.

Have you gotten a scan of just 1 of the delivery conformations? The best that JP can do is take a picture of the returned package so you can see that it was sent several times, and returned. Just me 2 cents,
Tony
