Either to borrow or to buy. I have a Capcom Impress, sender sold unit to me and put keys in the return coin hole, however they are not there now so I assume they went inside the cabinet. Only access left is the rear panels, but they use some kind of indented cog design on the screws. So I need the tool that opens these up!

Thanks.

If its a torque screw the screw drivers are pretty easy to find I picked up a set at walmart for under $10.

/|\ Do the screws look like this only the edges a little more spread out? If so it's a torque screw. Btw the torque screw drivers look like jeweler's screw drivers in their size, but will go up to larger sizes depending on the size of the screw hole.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I actually found the tool on the net that I need. Its different from the one you specified. Its called a star bit!

I even managed to get into the cabinet without it, but it took alot of hard work by twisting the screws with pliers. Fortunately they were not that tight.

Well to be honest its been a purchase nightmare. I should of gone and bought one from someone reputable but the timing was right and the Impress was the exact cabinet I wanted.

Firstly it took like a month before I received the cabinet, then the keys were stuck inside it because the seller put the keys in the return slot (hence this thread) and I received the cab on its rear, so the keys fell inside. Then after opening the cabinet and sticking a game inside I found out that the CRT tube doesnt display red. So the games have a green/blue tint to everything.

This problem is being looked at by my neighbor who used to work as an arcade cabinet technician at Chucky cheese. But right now he is working alot so its standing in my garage getting no use at all.

If its any consolation, I did plug in Metal slug and ESP ra.de, and I had goose bumps playing it. It was like a totally different experience from playing in front of the TV! Hell, I had fun just pulling the coin mechanism to make credits clock up. My cabinet was set up to take 25c coins, the joysticks and buttons all work flawlessly. But unfortunately the CRT is the most expensive part of a cabinet, if the worst scenario happens, it will be replaced for a high premium. I'm counting on my neighbor George to fix it.

I also noticed the screen needs some adjustments, the scores on ESP ra.de are too high and display half of the numbers off the screen. I believe cabinets have adjustment controls for this somewhere inside, I will look into it more when I get my initial problem sorted out.

I would definately recommend a cabinet, just get one that works.. Most of the cabs out there are dirty but most of it comes off with a good clean.
