Not knowing that Japhi was affiliated with Carolescolectables, I bought a Neo Bomberman Mvs Cart form them on Ebay. The cart was defective. I was pleased that they quickly responded to my complaint and seemed glad to replace it upon my return of the bad cart. That was 4 months ago. Upon my most recent email, I received the following response.
Brian,
Regarding the items, or item in question, which belonged to my son. I made a thorough
search for items that were purchased within the past 3-4 months,
and was unable to track down several items.
My son was run down by a hit and run driver 3 months ago, and
suffered some severe cognitive damage to his brain. While he was
in the hospital, his so called girlfriend, and her new boyfriend,
cleaned out his bank account, and anything else of value, including
several items that had been listed on ebay.
My son will never fully recover, and I obviously did not have the
financial resources to send refunds for the items that were stolen
at this time.
I have listed my house for sale now, in order to get the money
together to send out several refunds to buyers, and in order to pay
for medical bills, since my son did not have any medical insurance.
This is a very distressing situation, and I cannot do any better than
what I am doing now, in order to send out any refunds. However, the
refunds will be done. And that is all I can say at this time.
Also, as you can probably tell from looking at my ebay id, I have
not been selling any of my sons' arcade games anymore, because
anything of value that he had is missing-probably stolen, and he is
no longer able to conduct this business. And I have no personal
knowledge of where or how he had previously procured any of these items.
Does anybody know if there is any truth behind this excuse? I am skeptical given their shady reputation.
Any advice?
