I just came back from Toys 'R Us after returning a game and checking over their selection, and I noticed they had a new demo disc with the new Donky Konga demo as well, but the Mario Pinball Land demo also caught my eye since I now have a GBA SP and I thought I'd give it a spin before I made any purchase decision for its impending release.

My verdict is: Mario Pinball Land is a piece of sheisse.

Ugly pre-rendered graphics, utterly monotonous, drab design, vast empty, unutilized space, and just horrible handling of ball physics. Whose idea was it to design this game? Needs to go play some goddamn real pinball or license the development to someone with proven competent experience like the creators of Pro Pinball or something. As it stands this game is just a horrible waste of cartridge space.

What other franchise mangling can you guys muster up?

Yea, I was planning on picking this up, but since I've read a few reviews, I dunno. Like you said, pre-rendered gfx, and a non-traditional playfield. They have you bopping moving targets. Why the hell can't they just design a normal pin game?

I wish my Toys ''R' Us got all the demos.

That's really too bad...I was hoping this would be a kick-ass pinball title.

Things like this really make me long for a killer port of Devil's CrashMD.
That was when video pinball was fucking COOL.

actually after the initial 15 minutes i had with this game i began to enjoy it. I was actually quite suprised the GPA sp could pull of those gfx with a nice fram rate. The game itself is definately not ground breaking but, I still enjoyed it.

Umm...there was *not* a game called Mario Hotel for Virtual Boy

There was Mario Tennis, Mario Clash, & a Wario Land game.

There was a Hotel Mario for the CD-i
