I've been playing this cool game alot recently and I'm wondering about the stamina of pitchers.

Whatever I seem to do my pitchers always end up out of breath an unable to throw a decent ball, with the result that the opponents can smack lots of homeruns against me. Even using all the substitutes I can't get them to last ten innings.

Does anyone have some advice on this issue?

Thanks.

Hmmm, this hasn't been a problem when I've played it. The starting pitcher is usually good for about 4 innings before he starts gasping for air; I usually go another inning before replacing him. Each of the relievers I will pitch 1-2 innings. If you have high pitch counts, this may be more of a problem. If you can keep your pitches on the outside corner, you will very rarely need more than 3 to get an opposing batter out (playing against the CPU anyway). I love BBS2's graphics and gameplay, but I got bored with it; it is too easy to beat the CPU, and I don't have another humanoid to play against.

Always replace you pitcher on the beginning of the 6th inning.

also I like to replace the pitcher after the opponent strikes the second homerun against the same pitcher.

i think the stamina has as much to do with runners on base as it does with pitch counts.

Once a runner reaches base the pitcher immediately starts to struggle a little, and watch out if it's second and third with no outs, cuz the guy will be gasping like he just smoked two packs of Pall Malls in the dugout.

But you really don't need a pitcher for more than four innings. I usually end up pinch hitting for my starter second or third time thru the lineup anyways. Though you CAN pitch effectively with a tired starter, you just need to curve the ball and keep it on the corners like msu89dawgs noted. The CPU usually makes contact with those slow pitches, but like in real life, if it's junk or moving off the plate, the most they'll do is pop it up or hit it to a middle infielder.

Hold UP on the stick and tap A. The pitcher will pitch so that it drops before it reaches the batter. 95% of the time the batter will swing for it so you're more or less guaranteed a strike.
