AVP Impressions **SPOILERS INSIDE**

Just got back from a 11:00pm screening and I'm glad I didn't have to pay. The movie was total crap and I feel sorry for the Alien and Predator franchises now.

*CGI was very good, but what was real, was filmed very choppy in some scenes.

* The film felt very rushed and haphazard and editing could of used some better work.

* Acting was decent with Lex and Weyland saving the show, but development was lacking after being introduced to nearly a dozen characters!

*Ending was meh, but left open for another film ( I hope not).

Man, I don't even want to talk about it anymore, so I'm off to bed. Stick with the OG films and only dl if you must view it. IMO.

it's rated PG-13, i said it would suck before it was even released.

you can't take two characters that span 6 rated R movies, have them fight each other, and make it PG-13, it just isn't done. and it's not like any of these movies were that story driven.

the sad part is, when this bombs it will probably kill both films for at least 10-15 years.

I'm going to see it tonight anyway.
Regardless: I want figures (of the highest quality) and the possibilty of a sequal by another director that is set on earth, includes wayland, space marines and is set out in public with civilians in the know. I basically want it to follow the traditional AVP commic books more.

The AvP comic wasn't on earth (the only one that mattered).

And last time I checked the movie IS on earth, just in a temple.

Anyone remember that fucking sweet Capcom arcade game AVP, the only thing that sucked was that the last player had to be the human chick.

Damn straight. Just play the game and avoid this crapfest of a movie.

I guess I'll go out and buy the Predator SE to wash the taste of crap left by this movie.

The best scene was the battle atop a temple in Teotihuacan.

Hmm... I guess we may cancel that roll call... It doesn't look all that better on rottentomatoes.

I saw it!!!! It was a good movie. It's hard to pull off a movie like this but I feel it was a great attempt and I say it's "worthy" to bear the two great names.

Some parts where gay(I won't spoil it, near the ending part) but the good out weighs the bad. The ending was good. looking forward to part 2.

Overall it had the spirit from both movies and was tied together perfectly. Go see it now!!!!!!

I hated that guy. I thought that they would have made him out to be a survivor, but I am glad that he dies a horrible death.

I miss Hudson so much

Why can't the filmmakers understand that after the first 3 films (Alien, Aliens, Predator) the fans and the storylines call for 1. Aliens taking over the Earth and/or 2. The Predator homeworld and explination of their culture.

That's it nothing else. No prison worlds, no Los Angeles, no Ripley Alien babies and no freaking pyramids!!!


Things I was particularly bothered by in this movie.

1. Too dark. It doesn't make it scary, it just stops me from seeing what is going on. I don't think the point of this flick wa to be scary anyway.

2. Both the Aliens and the Predators schtick or routine is getting way too annoying. Every time you see an Predator it is that damn wolverine Shing/Snict sound effect. I swear they close the blades just so they can open them again to achieve the sound effect. I think I saw one scratch its ass and sure enough, I heard SHING. Every time you see an Alien it is that damn front head shot with the quivering lips and dripping face. Why are they so gooey all the time anyway. They were not like that in the first two movies. The first one was in the landing gear place that had all water and moisture dripping down, that was water not goo. It was amazing in the first one but I can't take seeing it fifteen times every half hour. Both of them are always screaming and roaring all the time. I just kept wondering if they were alone in a room doing something with no one around would they be roaring and screaming?

The last shot of the alien bursting out of the Predator. That just pissed me off because I was like, "Then why not just make that movie in the first place!"

Yeah, at one point, a face hugger jumps at the Predator and then they cut away and you don't see what happens. Later, as the Predators are leaving Earth in their ship, the aliens bursts out.

It looks like a regular chest-burster but with the mouth of a Predator. You never see it fully developed.

Yep, awesome game. Probably the best beat-em up in existance. It's too bad they never ported that exact same game to any console. They never will either.

The movie sucked. Rent it when it comes out.

They should have made this the end all be all. They left it open for a sequel.

I thought the movie sucked. I enjoyed watching the Aliens, but wtf was up with the Predator buddying up with the lady? Since when did the Predators need humans for help?

The entire audience when I watched it was like yelling out how stupid that was.

predators are the next hollywood action heroes

i honestly think they shoulda left this series in the last millenium. it's not the 80's anymore, where studios will let them use the "people in suits", everything has gotta be CG. and we all know what happened to Aliens when things went CG (Alien 4 anyone?).

The giant CG fight scenes were just silly looking IMO, would much rather see a shitload of people in suits like the end of Predator 2 in the ship.

hell Batman: Endgame had a better looking AvP fight scene IMO.

at least we know the series is dead, I don't think this movie will even crack a 15 million opening weekend.

What's with all the hate? I saw it, and it was pretty good.

Should they follow up on the loose ends and do a sequel it could be pretty good.

This movie sucked like nothing else has ever sucked. A complete and total slap in the face to both franchises. Two of the most feared species reduced to a huge flaming turd in less than 90 minutes.

I want the directors eyes, tounge and hands removed so he'll never do something like this ever again.
